I have been studying health and nutrition for 50 years, looooong before it was 'popular'. To this day I still engage in online learning. It is horrific what Americans are exposed to in our food supply. People used to say 'I cant afford Organic' to which I would reply...'You can pay now or you can pay latter with disease and death". Same goes for your animal too. I buy my food from different place and have paid lots of extra for it too but I have health problems, as many of us do..don't get me started, so it is paramount to purchase from truly Organic farms. To me the largest problem in the last few decades is the Aerial Spraying..those white lines in the sky. There are 6+ cancer causing, death causing chemicals in the spray. It rains down all over the Earth killing ALL life. Lots of folks are figuring it out these days. We don have a chance for life if we dont stop the spraying. Ask yourself how many folks are complaining about crop failures and your average gardeners are complaining that their plants did not provide any food this year and previous years. Nothing will survive if the spraying is not stopped!!

A lot of people have pretty tight budgets especially right now. In fact, groceries isn't even figured in on my bill list. I buy groceries with what I can after everything is paid. $100 to $150 a month Budget on groceries isn't leaving you able to make the healthiest choices. At the prices today, shopping as cheap as you can, is barely keeping food on your table for the month. Some people's choices literally are; buy more expensive healthier foods and eat for a half a month or shop cheaper and feed yourself for a whole month. Trust me, I would love to be able to afford the healthier foods but there are many other things that I have to consider in making that choice. Living on disability doesn't allow for a lot of choices.

I stopped buying grocery store meats almost 2 years ago. We have a local chicken farmer who sells through my very local bulk food store. I don't buy a lot of it, because it's expensive, but I have been canning all that I am able. The same bulk food store sells local beef and pork sausage and bacon. I understand why good meat is so expensive, but I usually keep my beef-buying to ground beef. And my husband is happy with that. I'm so glad we have that little store. The blood spots that you can find on the chicken breasts are actually caused by one of 2 things. 1) Air chilling the chicken before it is processed or 2) The bone marrow from the joints leak onto the meat which gives it an appearance of blood. I…like you don’t care to see this but I also worry about all of the hormones and additives that are fed to the meat birds in large poultry farms that supply the grocery stores. I raise and process my own meat birds every year so I know what I’m eating and how my birds are cared for. There have been times that I get into a hurry when processing and crack a joint the wrong way and the bone marrow escapes and leaks out on the the breast meat but it can be washed off if caught before it’s frozen. Freezing the meat before washing it off will make it more noticeable and does look like blood spots. I just have to remember to go slow and take my time then everything goes smoothly. And I never air chill my chickens before processing. I always use ice for at least 24 hours so the blood vessels don’t burst. Another reason why I don’t buy store bought chicken is because it tastes so “different” than my farm raised chicken. I assume it’s because of what I feed mine verses what is fed to a large poultry farm.

The turkey was duly defrosted properly (3 days in the refrigerator ) and prepared according to directions . When it came out of the oven it rested and was cut into . The meat was deep pink...bordering on red...in the breast ! It went back into the oven to be baked more . Although it looked thoroughly cooked , that color persisted !!! It broke my heart to "waste" food , but it didn't appear to actually be fit for human consumption ! Weeks later , it was time for the "christmas dinner" and again , a frozen turkey was offered . I politely declined and explained why . It would seem the lady had heard this before and looked embarrassed .

Good Morning, Constance... Your video this morning really caught my attention regarding what's going on with our food supply. I stopped eating commercially produced eggs 25 years ago due to the horrific odour & taste; after eggless months I started went to fully organic & pastured eggs...what a difference, they were and are like what i had growing up as a kid on a farm in south Mississippi. Then came the beef and chicken with subpar qualities. So I ditched commercially produced and switched to small local organic & pastured. I'm 66 now, and I'm massively picky about the sources of my foods. Yes, I pay more for quality over quantity, but my main concern is health. Up here near Fayetteville, it is a little easier to get local foods from respected sources. Even though I'm in the heart of Wal-Mart & Tyson country!!

I, too, like the verse from Matthew and I think in Luke that states we will be protected from the things we ingest. Like Constance said, prayerfully consider what we are putting into our bodies and pray over the food for protection, along with sourcing the highest quality you can afford. You are so right about the meats from Walmart. I refuse to purchase meats of any kind from Walmart. The chicken breasts have this weird stringy fibrous aspect to them that makes you really wonder what kind of steroids they have been feeding these poor birds! This store has also been known to inject fluid into their meats to bulk them up, so they make more money per pound. I stock up when Fresh Market has the Chicken & Chuck sales on Tuesdays. Homestead Heart did a video just the other day about an article where a study is being done about injecting our fruits and veggies with vaccines. This is being sanctioned and funded by our government. The number of unsafe ingredients allowed in our foods is despicable.
@winterblue52196 күн бұрын
Here’s a maybe answer to your concern about the blood spots in the chicken breast… Too fast processing. Improper handling and processing. Not letting the blood drain long enough before processing, which goes back to the too fast part. A bacterial infection - which can be caused by bad environment and raising of the birds. There are several companies that just don’t care. Then you get meat like that. It may be more expensive but definitely get your meat from a different source. I do all my own processing and have never seen this problem. But I try to do it correctly and humanely. Things just take time. One thing to remember if anyone decides to raise their own meat, be careful what you feed your butcher animals. Sometimes bad feed is the culprit. Hope this helps a little.

What would you suggest as a good feed for egg laying chickens?
@winterblue52195 күн бұрын
@ Hello there! When getting feed for birds, I always look at content. Make sure it’s non gmo. That includes layer feed. For egg production in winter, I sometimes supplement with turkey layer. Enough light and water and a little warmth goes a long way. I don’t have city power so I go a completely different route than other people. I give scratch grains but supplement with alfalfa and soaked old grains such as old rice or quinoa etc. As long as the dry grains are soaked for several hours, it won’t negatively affect the birds. I do a lot of research and through trial and error I’ve come up with a solution that works for my situation. We live at higher altitude and colder temps. Sometimes I supplement with canned dog food in dead winter. Just for the fat content. I give all green kitchen scraps and the hay. Anything to get them thru the cold season. The conclusion being to find what works for you and your flock. Hope that gives you a direction to drop down into. 😁

It is so true a lot of the ingredients or farming practices in our country are not permitted in Europe. Our large manufacturers are not permitted to use certain dyes when they make a product that will be sold outside of the US but they still use them here. Things won’t change until more people decide to speak up. Unfortunately that won’t or can’t happen because not everyone can afford to buy good quality food. I don’t really know how to explain this but I believe the other reason is that most people just don’t ever question anything and just accept whatever is put in front of them. Between the water quality in most rivers that have been contaminated by chemicals from companies and the quality of our air I believe it’s essential to at least have the ability to choose where we source our food from.

I have noticed the same thing with chicken, except I get mine from Costco! The first time I saw it, I thought that the chicken had been horribly abused. The next time, I realized that something else was going on. The question becomes, “What would cause the vessels to rupture?” In humans it would be medication, disease, injury, or low/high atmospheric pressure. For chickens, I can only guess that it could be diet or the method of slaughter. Two of the methods used to calm chickens before slaughter could result in blood vessel damage. One involves the use of CO2 and another uses low pressure.

And I get my eggs and chicken from her. bI have been wanting to try Azure Standard. I kind of don’t know where to start. Maybe some flour and sugar and storage buckets? Rice and we shall see? I so appreciate you and your stand in our behalf. Blessings . On you and your and have a Grand Thanks Giving…

I bought a pork roast and froze for later use. I roasted it yesterday told my husband that something isn’t right with the pork. Absolutely tasteless. I asked him if it could be artificial meat. Don’t know but my inner self didn’t trust the meat.

My local health food store carries several different sweet potatoes. The purple are different types. Jewel, and Garnett... They are orange inside and delicious. I tried the Japanese I believe their called, they are white inside purple outside last year and they are not the typical sweet potatoes, but they were delicious. They are sweet tasting without any toppings, I read many like them for deserts. I took to family dinner cubed with less brown sugar and butter... My family liked them and emptied the dish. It was more savory/sweet when you add butter. The little bit of brown sugar worked. I like them for myself with just butter... They are so good.

I completely agree with you on the chicken. Even from my HEB Texas chain. The chicken is just not looking healthy. I'm limited income dependent, and the food quality is garbage.

I am finding that the grocery stores in my area are all removing whole isles. This I believe is so they can make the shelves look full. I have noticed they are eliminating organic dairy. Hate to say this but Azure and the food pantry's like Ruby's where you pay $25.00 and they give you boxes of stuff. Much of it is expired. Anyway I believe this is hurting the local grocery stores with the on-line ordering and pay a litte bit food pantrys. They don't want us to notice the slim pickins in the stores. Lastly, why would you wear that radiation device near your brain? Do some research on emf radiation.

I want to thank you for letting us know about the chicken from Walmart. I have noticed how tough the breast/chicken is no matter how it is cooked. I roasted some chicken breast from Walmart the other day and they were so tough that I can't chew it. I so agree that there is something wrong. No doubt, they aren't concerned about human beings. May God bless you and your family.❤

The past few months I've just gotten uneasy about chicken bought at the grocery store and decided its worth the additional cost for peace of mind so long as ww have the means

The FDA allowed then mandated arsenic in all food preservatives used in all foods. All cereals, freezer meals foods.(frozen pizzas, lasagna, chicken nuggets/strips, etc.) any and all already made meals in the freezer sections of your grocery stores. Found out a few months ago, arsenic it’s in fruit juices, and the puréed squeeze pouches that people give to toddlers and younger kids and infant formula. Another good book is “commercial foods exposed! And how to replace them” by Gaye Deamer

I bought eleven pounds of chicken in March because it was on sale. Heritage Farms at Kroger. I threw every bit of it away. It was shredding and mushy and was NOTHING like normal chicken. These were boneless skinless chicken breasts. I got a refund! I haven’t bought any chicken since then. I had some chicken in the freezer that had been vacuum sealed and was good, normal chicken. I canned it. I hadn’t thought of getting chicken from Azure. Please give a review of the Azure Chicken. Thanks.

Years ago I bought a package of chicken at Fry's (Kroger) and when I got it home and opened the package it was rancid. I threw it into the trash and this started my path to no longer shopping in grocery stores. I have removed my family from the big agra supply chain. I don't shop the typical grocery stores other than minimal produce at Costco. I live in the desert so growing vegetables is challenging but we just bought ten acres of land this week and we will be moving. I will be raising chickens. Most of my produce comes from Azure Standard.

I just signed up for good rancher and did just a chicken box. You can swap your meats. We have cattle and have our own beef but I wanted to source our pork and chicken from a good place. We have plenty of pork but when we run out I’ll order pork. I set it up for every six weeks.

You guys are all falling for the destruction of our grocery stores. This is going to put them out of business so that only on line ordering will be our option. Then if you do not comply....shots or whatever they can lock you out. It's a trap and I can't believe people are falling for it.

I haven't been able to eat the Walmart chicken for years now. Everytime I eat it I get sick. People make fun of me for it but it's real. My husband and kids know I'm not making it up. Same with eggs. I have to be very careful where we get out meat and eggs.

My wife says that many others are complaining about WM chicken, same problem. She belongs to online food and preservation groups. My pet peeve is butter from the store has too much water (FDA changed its standards), it doesn't seem to last as long in the fridge. Making ghee also takes longer.

When I make lasagna, I make 2 and freeze one. It keeps beautifully this way and then you always have a quick filling meal without the fuss and extra dishes. I freeze mine before baking, dethaw overnight, then bake it. I also buy Azure's noodles by the case and I don't cook them first either! They turn out just fine without wasting money on the "no boil" noodles. Silliness.

Instead of tossing the chicken into the trash, you should return it to WM for a refund and tell them why you are returning the (Tyson) chicken. If enough people did that, they may find another brand to sell, although I doubt it. WalMart and Tyson are from the same part of Arkansas.

I've never seen the blood spots throughout a chicken breast but have definitely purchased 'woody' chicken several times from Aldi/Walmart (their 'standard' cheapest flat-pack variety). I wish you could share a picture with us of that blood-clotted chicken, I'd like to see it for curiosity sake. So sad that animals are being abused to make more money for big corporations, then questionable meats being sold to innocent public at exorbitant prices. 😭😡
