3D LUT Creator - How to create 3D LUT files from Lightroom presets or Photoshop Plugins

Powerful software, I like it. I can set all color corrections in Photoshop, then apply the LUTS in any software. A ICC profile is only changing the colors for the screen, not the actual image, correct ? What about OpenColorIO I'm still not strong on it's purpose ?

No, Ps can make luts only from adjustment layers. 3D LUT Creator can.

When I process my images, I usually make a camera profile from a DNG picture of the X-Rite ColorChecker Passport. Can I make this profile with 3D LUT Creator? (these are dcp files stored in 'Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles\'). These profiles are available in Adobe Camera Raw which I use, I don't use Lightroom.

Not yet, but I started to work on that. Though some additional tools needed (dcptool for example), I have a working model, but yet I need to calibrate it to be precise. Also, DCP profiles can not change neutral colors, so in order to convert all corrections of 3d lut creator to DCP, you'll need to have separate curves preset for that DCP (lrtemplate or some preset for ACR).

Hi, When I use the HALD image in 3D lut Creator, there is a lot of artifacts , it's like the Color Depth is not enough.

The problem is I often edit RAW photo in lightroom (cr2), so when I apply this there's a problem (the black is almost green). So how to fix it?

Are there any forums for this software to discuss issues? I'm having a problem getting the curves to match from Lightroom over to 3D Lut Creator....? Anyone had issues with getting a matching colour grade?

Hello! Facebook.com/groups/3dlutcreator is the place. We seem to have this problem already sorted out: on extremely flat images black and white adjustments in Lightroom seem to produce different results than on generic images, so those effects seem to not transfer correctly to HALD. If you use curves instead of blacks / whites, results match. Sorry for inconvenience, that is also surprise to me, thank you for discovering it!

This is Lightroom feature - to tune blacks slider to image dynamic range. They added it intently and are unlikely to remove it.

in PS cc15 you can now export LUT´s direct from PS as I understand.

Oscar Majoros PS can export LUTs since 2014, but it can only export it's own Adjustment layers, so you can only combine few layers into one lut, but no color masks or advanced tools. Correct me if something changed in CC2015.

Yes, you can save to various LUT formats, such as 3DL, Cube, CSP, Nucoda Cube (CMS), and also PNG luts for GPUImage or Unity3D.
