Today the PS22 Chorus of 2011 had the enormous pleasure of hosting a visit from the brilliant band, Little Dragon! They are one of my favorite indie bands, and Yukimi Nagano has one of the most beautiful voices to ever grace this orb. They were kind enough to take some time out of their hectic schedule, from SXSW, Jimmy Fallon Show, and promoting their upcoming album to say hello! To be able to make music with Little Dragon was definitely one of the most significant personal highlights of my time with PS22! And believe it or not, the kids only started learning the song this afternoon! A very happy and proud day for this lucky music teacher!

"Oh, that's nice" I thought. "Little Dragon are playing for these school kids. They're awesome!" I had no idea what was coming. I mean I was speechless when that chorus hit. That was some next-level, transcedental stuff. Just when I thought I couldn't love Little Dragon anymore, they do this. Also the kids are awesome , and the teacher is a legend. Greatness all round.

I seem to find more new music through PS22 than anything else. I had never heard this band before but this song (or at least with the PS22 kids!) is AMAZING. Great post, Mr. B. As usual the kids are beautiful. I have chills!!!

Goapele (love her) didn't send me here, I just happened upon it! Congrats to this school 4 exposing kids to diff music genres and artists. I noticed that Grayson Chance was a student of this school and I saw his guest appearance on Disney's "So Random" television show. He is incredible and now I see why. Fifty years ago I listened in secret to all kinds of music like classical, foreign and hard rock cuz I was a little black girl, in a black neighborhood and to others that was just weird!
