as well as tyre traction you have to look at gear selection too..... maybe not for newer tractors but certainly with the older ones if u can pick a slightly higher gear the tyres will have more command

I will also mention the fact that the tires in the John Deere are filled with mud, AND worn down. The Steyr in this competition has been given more advantages than a man racing a bike with a supercar.

But if you look at the tires of the John Deere that's also a downside for pulling. If both tractor is weigh the same. Those larger tires yes they will give you more traction. However it also reduces how much pressure is put on at any one point. So if you don't have the weight to match the size of those bigger tires you're actually creating less pressure on the ground in order to get

It's how you build the internals of the motor that determines how powerful it. If you want a good example of this just look at the V8 of America. There's a lot of big v8s that are over 8 and 9 liters. But have less performance power than the smaller 5 and 6 l

It is relative because a cousin bought a Toyota truck and in the snow when he needed grip even with all-terrain tires and it always skidded then he had to immediately change it for a Ford that due to the weight had much better grip so the weight is also a factor of important difference

The bagged tires are most likely to provent the frontend from raising which will decrease the height of the draw bar thus reducing the pull down on the tires giving less traction. Also it have narrow tires and with narrow tires you have more pounds per square inch in a smaller surface area. Being the surface is a hard top the tractor on the left has an much better advantage than the tractor on the right. The machine on the right has wide tires which are designed for soft surfaces like mud or muck. Providing lower ground psi that allows it to traverse these soft ground conditions. But on a hard surface with wide tires they provide significantly less traction. As they aren't designed for that specifically. Also the tractor on the right has about 500lbs to 800lbs of wheel weights weight provides more traction and can be placed in the front, middle or rear with variations of weight setup to get maximum traction depending on the task you are tackling!

Idk to me it seems a fair battle Most people defending JD complain about the steyr about its deflainted tires and tire weight But then JD has is a bigger tractor with 2 tires at the back (everything far bigger) on each side so even the jd has enough traction But yea jd lost in the end because it could not get its power back on the track so it lost thanks to losing traction (more like the mud was a problem removing the ability to gain more traction) but more likely because it focused to much then on speed instead of force

That steyr had BRAND new rubber grippin’ tires compared to the tractionless sand and dirt covered and smoothed out tires on the John Deere. In physics, that’s a weight and traction issue. John Deere tractor got the steyr off the ground because steyr has traction but low weight. This is an odd comparison. Regardless, John Deere is better on any day lol. Or at least used to be. Idk about their tractors today.
