Damn, that's sweet! Fast tempo, too! The bass notes really drive it. The bass is voiced. The chords are voiced. The melody is voiced. All perfectly grounded in the groove -- yet swinging independently. Astonishing. I've been teaching myself to play guitar since I was 14 years old, 44 years ago. I discovered Bossa Nova some 30 years ago. I'm proud to say the Bossa groove is not that foreign to me. I get it. I don't know what I listened to in my youth that instilled the Bossa groove into my soul, but I am extremely grateful for it. My mom listened to Harry Bellafonte when I was a baby in the late 1960s. Johnny Cash. Johnny Rivers. Odetta. Nat "King" Cole. Ray Charles. I owe her a tremendous debt of gratitude. I learned how to swing dancing with my momma as a baby! Thanks mom!

Today I woke up with this son in my head, my late dad played guitar and played a lot of bossa and samba, this was one of the ones that was in his heavy rotation, of course. Gabriel, I like very much yr talent and the extraordinary swing of yr sound. however, its really a pity not to sing these Vinicius lyrics (even if you consider yself not a great singer) because it is part of whole thing. the paramount beauty of these songs, which seems to me the most brazilian music of them all, is the pairing o emparelhamento e harmonia of lyric and sound, of two of the best Brazilian artist ever, musician and poet that fit so perfect one each other, like butter and bread.

I totally agree that the lyrics of these songs are unbelievably great, specially the Vinicius ones.. On Pair with the compositions. Singing is still a bit of a challenge to me but I'm slowly working on adding more of that.. I did Useless Landscapes singing the whole thing, check it out!
