Live from the Aguilar Artist Loft… Gerald Veasley!
Gerald began his recent clinic at the Aguilar Artist Loft by tearing into his song “Cross Currents”. Playing through the DB 751 and two of the SL 410x cabinets, Gerald mesmerized with his ferocious groove and musicality. Joining Gerald for this performance was Donald Robinson on keyboards and Marcus Myers on drums.

Damn that tone is fantastic. There’s so much tonal depth with how his light but precise touch interacts with that subtle distortion

That bass is sweet all his input went into the design I love the close string spacing perfect for that style focusing on chords

The bass sounds much better to my ears as a frontman instrument as opposed to the guitar, just love the deeper tones much more. Gerald is awesome, thinking about picking up a six stringer just for my own enjoyment.

A very suave gentleman & fellow Bassist. Gerald continues to reign the scene with incredibly thought provoking chord structures and enlightening melodic solo's. I'm proud to be an aquaintence of this good human being and excellent artist....Peace be unto you Gerald!!!

DAMN, that TONE! It sounds like Stanely Clarke's tone on early Return to Forever stuff. And now that i say that I hear a lot of that in the music itself here. Great stuff

Such a light precise touch. Any body know if he uses lighter guage strings to go along with that 14 mm spacing?

Have met Gerald Veasley several times and to say the least he's a good bass player and a great personality, much like Victor Wooten who always has time time talk with you. I see him often at the Willingboro Jazz Fest and at his Bass Boot Camp. You can be a great musician but,if you have a lousy personality like one musician that met it decreases your integrity.

Anyone know if and what distortion pedal Gerald is using, or if it's all in the bass and the amp? There seems to be a very subtle distortion in the tone that adds a lot richness and pleasant harmonics.

A rockstar plays 4 notes in front of 5000 people, a jazz player plays 5000 notes on front of 5 people😂
