As a metal guitarist i tried compressors a few times over the years and it never “did anything” then a few years ago i started playing fender guitars, fender amps. And playing clean, then i tried compression again and holy cow! Turns out distortion itself compresses the signal so much, so i had no idea i had been compressing this whole time and thats why i never noticed much difference using one. I tell people my compressor helps me play clean tones with the sustain id expect using distortion. Its been a life changer. My favorite comp on the market right now is hands down the wampler Ego

Thanks Pete. Excellent demo. I have an active/passive bass. In passive mode, the D & G strings are markedly quieter than the E. I am attempting to use the TLC to attain more volume parity but I cannot figure out how. What general settings would you suggest to help with this?
