I think the accident here is portrayed somewhat less extreme than it actually happened. In an interview in 2019 Yoongi discussed the accident and said it was bad enough that he actually was dragged underneath the vehicle.

Lotus flowers are prized in Asian culture because they are this beautiful flower that grows out of muddy filthy water as as they grow they actually clean the water around them. They filter out all the muck and turn a dirty pond into a clean one. So the lotus metaphor is coming up out of this bad situation and making it better.

There is video out there of a delivery driver who has delivered food to BTS on multiple occasions where he tells a story of how one rainy day, an order from Yoongi came with a note “It doesn’t matter how late the food gets here, it is raining so please tell the driver to be careful”.

The Pills that shift into Almonds are in reference to the novel _Almond_, (as seen being read by he and Namjoon on In the SOOP). The main character is a 16yr old who has an underdeveloped amygdala, so he does not experience emotions. His mother feeds him almonds, in a misguided attempt to develop the amygdala. Yoongi is eating them as he watches the scenes unfold 💔

The leather jacket was passed from suga to jhope them to jimin. Jimin to my knowledge still has it and uses it according to 2021 Muster dinner army time. Not to say suga isn't wearing it in this video but it could just be one that looks similar but they each have many items that they've worn for a very long time as evidenced in photos and videos over the years.

BTS suga's real life past he been through, he did had a accident as a DELIVERY part time job when he was a trainee, mother had a heart operation, father was sick liver cancer, both parents are living healthy thanks God. BTS suga is like a LOTUS Flower who overcome those trials in life.he never gave up..

BTS have not disappoint me with their honesty in music and Suga is no exception. He decided to bare it all, lay out his trauma/struggles for the world to see as apart of his healing journey. I love the imagery in the music video, particularly the setting with Yoongi on the sofa, and the door across from him. While it is a dark and bleak environment, he is sitting in the most comfortable place within it and he has the door within his line of sight the whole time. It might not be what they intended, but I think it's so important to be compassionate towards yourself even in a dark place... Keep yourself warm and comfortable until you feel able to reach the door, allow yourself to try for the door and come back to the sofa when you're tired, but keep your eyes on that door, no matter what 💜

@@Jurnalist_ yeah in the beginning of my journey years ago i definitely watched with CC but now I tend to turn them off especially cause I’m starting to learn Korean, it’s helping with learning how to listen and forces me to rack my brain for my vocabulary. I listened to this when I was really down and having a bad mental health day, it’s kind of impossible to NOT feel this song. This story hits really close to home cause I’m riding this exact wave emotionally and fighting past traumas trying to hold me in this dark feeling, when I’m trying to move on. It’s a raw vulnerable moment.

Seeing how Yoongi was becoming after his shoulder surgery and therapy, he slowly began to get brighter, bolder, and confident, proactively wanting to do many things contrary to the lethargic moments he had before... he's still a few-words, reserved kinda guy, and he still have his pretty laid-back demeanor like he used to before but you know you can tell & feel the difference in him... his fiery spirit before feels like it's a desperate fire blazing until it'll run out squeezing every bit of what he have, but now it's a blazing fire that continuously and passionately burns to do a lot of things... I'M VERY PROUD OF HIM... I hope he knows how much I'm grateful for his music and existence.

I wrote a poem when I was in college and the dark room where Yoongi is trying to get out is similar to what I was imagining....only mine was this cliff with an endless drop and everything was dark and you couldn't see how far down or up the cliffs went, but I'd fallen from a height and was trying to decide whether to climb back up or just allow myself to fall further. This brought all that back. I can remember how exhausting that feeling was of fighting just to keep existing. And I was only 19 and still had a few decades ahead of me of fighting to get to where I am now. Depression is just so exhausting. Like walking through mud for years. I just realized that I have been on a more even keel for a couple of years now...and it just happened to coincide with when I found BTS. Weird how that works. 😊

Actually, the accident happened a little bit different, but he chose to not have the car hit him. when it happened, he ended up with a tire 1/2 inch from his face, and his shoulder was broken. he was underneath the car. I don't know if he chose it for his own sake or for the audience, because that would have been more traumatic to witness. This hit me different when I watched the video. I did connect more to it and cried my eyes out. I love this song, and I think he did an amazing job. He's grown and moved forward. His parent are good now. They made it through the hard times, and they are okay now.

Suga used to do b-boing before this accident. He stopped working out. He was so scared that the company would fire him because he was just a trainee and couldn't afford his education. He was working delivering to pay for his education. He is so special 🥰 Also he produced this whole piece of art. It's very hard for men to explain their true feelings unlike women, Suga did a excellent job. Depression and suicide is at a high rate right now. Thank you for encouraging your listeners to seek help if you're going through mentally unstableness. I never seen you stumble and ramble as much on a video reaction, that let's us know you're been where Yoongi is ....thank you. You definitely care about your listeners and we "love you" for that. After attempting suicide three times and BTS found me, as the saying go's "BTS finds you, you don't find BTS" All their songs have a message of healing, you just have to go through the process they give up to get to your healing. Yoongi holds on to things so much just like how he can't let go of his fears, anger, grudge, regret easily (he's both extreme both ways, light to dark w/c we can really see in his personality and music, (also his beats from school/predebut days w/c he made it into OT7 songs like for songs like Tomorrow, JUMP, etc. w/c he was the main producer & songwriter)... we saw him not long ago posting a selfie wearing his favorite grey beanie, fave FG T-shirt under his fave red plaid shirt w/c are all his clothes he often wear since years ago, and the tibetan dzi bead necklace his mother gave him before.. one of his many endearing traits is when he likes a piece of clothing or accessory he will wear it all the time for so long (currently, he has this cheetah print fur bucket hat) then will probably appear again in the future just like his other things...

Yoongi really opened up to us. This may be a healing for him , to face his pain and trauma.. and for us, who are also going through the same thoughts... What really pained me about this song and MV, is finally knowing how he held all of this in. Not just while in pre debut, but through out his career. This are not really things you can just talk about in the open, not especially as an Idol who, aside from working hard , are always being hated on for no reason. Holding onto those pain, alone in your mind😭 .. knowing now that he was the one who inflicted that scar in order to cope with all the turmoil he must have been feeling, thus creating AGUST D, the one filled with anger, pain and malice 🥹 he was suffering and yet only tried to give us his best .. How must he have felt, after all his schedule and concerts, going back alone in his hotel room😭.. I'm glad he has his members with him ready to support and help him out. Ive been away for a while and yes yes I've missed quite a few videos but I am back with a long comment because I have a large theory about this song and album as a whole: First thing's first, Yoongi has said that this album is the end of his moniker, 'Agust D' so that part isnt a theory. These songs all tell a story of him letting go of his past self, I like to call it his mask. As you can see in this MV he goes through the memory of his accident, arguably the worst time in his life as it sent him into a depression (and there are other things about that time which was rumored but not revealed so I will not speak on them). Either way, after he goes through those memories he gives himself the scar on his eye. I believe this scar was like the birth of Agust D. It is his blemished self, his "fucked up" or depressed version. We first see the scar in Daechwita which was the title track of D-2. The song that depicted Agust D vs Suga. Even in his first mixtape, Agust D, the album cover does not show his left eye (his scarred eye) even though he has no scar in it's MV. I still believe that this scar represents Agust D, the rapper that was born to speak on his struggles and trauma of the past. In this MV it looks like his innocent self, Min Yoongi, before he was hit by that car and went down that dark path is trying to save Agust D from the torture of his memories. But as you can see he wasn't able to. Agust D was still locked away and Yoongi on the outside never could get in to save him. Which is why I believe this MV was the birth of Agust D BECAUSE in His song "Snooze" it solidified this theory for me as it sounds sort of like a farewell song, and Agust D telling Yoongi that "I will hold all of your pain but you dont need me now" "I am always here for you still" which goes in line with this album being a send-off of Agust D, the version of himself he relied on to get him where he is today. He was finally able to save himself from his past and his trauma. Also on this note I sort of feel like Suga has played a role in constantly battling against Agust D. But in Daechwita he "killed the king" (Suga) so to speak. Which is why in Haegum you only see one Yoongi with a scar (the detective/crooked cop) and the other with no scar. The no scar this time being Yoongi, and in the end he kills Agust D. It almost seems like to me that Min Yoongi has constantly been battling against himself (both Suga and Agust D) these "monikers" that represent him as an artist, but maybe he feels aren't who he is anymore. Like they are still a part of him, but maybe they gained too much control over the normal him. Suga wanted fame and power, Agust D wanted money and freedom, but Min Yoongi..... well maybe Min Yoongi is a collection of both of them. Maybe he's neither. He "killed" them both so to speak so MAYBE...... we'll find out in his next album 🙃🙃 Anyways that's the end of my Agust D | Suga | Min Yoongi theory. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk

I decided to give it a go with you here again, and it was ok thanks to your commentary kind of interrupting the narrative so I didn’t sink into it so much. For me it brings back some stuff that was more connected to the lyrics and that I can ignore listening to the music, but somehow couldn’t ignore at all when I watched the video.
