Agust D is one person, he just plays two different roles. Agust D is ranked as one of the most influential producers and songwriters in South Korea, who won multiple awards over the past few years, including best producer. He became the first male soloist in history to have a song and album reach No.1 on iTunes in 100 countries each. He has two self-produced mixtapes: "Agust D" (2016) and "D-2" (2020), which broke several records on music charts worldwide. To put this simply, in this MV king is his past self. The other one is his present self. So he shot his past self. He is not only a solo artist but also a part of BTS and produces/writes a lot of songs for BTS (his stage name for BTS is Suga) as well as for other top artists. Agust D is Suga, one of the BTS rapper..When he release his mixtape he use that name..Agust D is backwards of Suga, Agust D = Suga + TD = DT/Daegu Town (his hometown)..He is underground rapper before join BTS..Other BTS rapper has own mixtape too..There's two BTS member in this MV, Jungkook and Jin, fighting scene at the market

It's figurative, it's about the psyche. He's playing both the king & the gang boss. Even though this is a solo project, Suga (aka AgustD here) is using elements that was part of the last few albums from BTS where they got into Jungian psychology (Carl Jung). At the end, he shoots the "persona" of himself that he really wants to get rid of, i.e. the king. The ax man executioner was in on the coup against the king, which is why he cut AgustD's bonds instead of his head. Go back earlier to the market place scene & you will see the axman & Suga staring at each other for a split second. It was meant to be subtle so that in the end you had no idea why the axman gave him a gun. In fact the rest of the black figures in the courtyard are in on it because you all see them head banging on beat. The gun itself is a Colt 1860 Army pistol from the US Civil War days. They chose that because it represents ARMY, the BTS fandom, which is huge, possibly around 40 million or so today. Great reaction! "Daechwita" is an ancient form of traditional Korean music that was played for the arrival of the king or a military march. Agust-D is saying he's the king and he's here, so "Daechwita, play it loud!"

The line "Every day Bang PD keeps dancing on on on on" always makes me laugh as he is having a pop at Bang PD, who is Big Hit's CEO. When Big Hit recruited Suga he just wanted to be a songwriter and producer. Bang PD convinced him to join BTS (which was initially meant to be a hip hop group) promising him that there would be no dancing...

If you have a hard time reading the lyrics while watching the video, I recommend you just watch the video without subtitles first and then look up the lyric translations online. Maybe that would make it easier :)

Agust D is Suga from BTS, this is his stage name for his solo songs. Agus = Suga (backward), T D = Town Daegu (His hometown in S.Korea), thats Agust D name came from... he is one of the rapper from BTS. (There are 3 rappers and 4 vocalist of BTS)
