GameBoyy 310 || StayTuned TV || Finally checkout out Part 2!! The reason I like this song is because of the 90's vibe I get. Most of all the message and the lyrics he wrote aren't so "straight forward". I like analogies, creative arrangement of words. Somethin to think about. Words that make you reflect. This is that. Rhythm & Poetry. S/O to Agust for this one fr. Lets gooooo YA HEAR ME!!!

I absolutely love this song. I think what people didn’t like were IU’s lyrics. At first, they sound a bit like word salad, nonsense. When you take her English lyrics, translate them into Korean, and then change them back to English, they make a lot more sense. I think he chose to word it that way for the sonic way these words flow. The lyrics of his verses are classic AgustD though. He is never afraid to rip out his emotions for the whole world to dissect.

@@LotusBloom0309 personally, i like his lyrics, it's a personal taste issue but i personally don't like her type of voice/vibrato (no flavor? too vanilla?) over those beginning low muted chords, i like her on her other songs, just not over the sounds in the intro, and her vocal is so far in front there too. there's a chord in there that my ear consistently doesn't absorb well, and i personally don't think her voice and Suga's complement each other incredibly well. for me it has a lot to do with IU's type of voice sometimes not being a favorite of mine, her tone is not the first i would have chosen together with suga's and her tone+vibrato are not the type i personally would have over that instrumentation.

A lot of female solo artists in Korea sound alike, with a breathy, child-like voice and that is not to everyone's liking. IU has a YT interview show called IU's Pallette and SUGA was on it the other week. He sang "People" for the first time live, and He and IU sang "People Pt. 2" as well as IU's song "Eight" that SUGA produced and featured in. He plays piano and guitar. The biggest complaint I heard about the song was that international/English speaking fans didn’t like how abstract IU’s lyrics in the chorus are, saying that “they don’t make sense” but I think you understood that it was closer to poetry and about expressing a feeling/emotion more than literal lyrics. Idk how anyone can complain about the song itself though it’s so beautiful and soothing 💜

I understand the fact the it's meant to be poetic and expressive, but it totally defeats the purpose of that if half the listeners don't understand what she's trying to express. I litrally spent so much time trying to decifer what she was saying that I almost missed the true peotry that Yoongi was saying in the song. I love this song and it's message, but I wish IU's verse actually flowed well with Yoongi's in terms of sentense structure.

Min Yoongi on the other hand is the softest person on the planet! He is soft spoken and kind. He cares DEEPLY about his team members. He loves them so much. He cooks for them always! He takes care of them. He goes fishing with his Hyung just because Seokjin likes fishing. He always plays along with the three youngests' antics. He is a comrade to Hobi and he is Namjoon's rock. One of the things I love about Yoongi's writing is his intertextuality: he has specific ideas/phrases that he plays with across different songs. The most famous is his "big house, big cars, and big rings," but the sandcastle metaphor comes up several times in the context of relationships. Same phrases, but using them in different contexts to show change in his thinking - it's fantastic. Real talk, one of the frustrations of liking BTS and not speaking Korean is knowing that they're so damn good with their words, and being reliant on second hand knowledge/interpretation. But what a glorious problem to have! 😂

He´s really open with how he feels and his struggles in his music. He opened up with us when he was struggling with depression on his song The Last, this being a big deal since in Korea it´s kind of a taboo to talk about it, at least back in 2016 people wouldn´t talk about it. Agust D truly showcased his lyrical maturity and sophistication as a songwriter in this song. He mentioned in an interview that he’s letting go a lot of his anger, by reflecting and forgiving. Especially in his upcoming D-Day album. Yoongi is a very deep thinker and philosopher. As you can see; Lyrics like “selflessness can be selfish” or “life’s a struggle between submission and resistance”. Just very deep topics that he’s shedding light on. If you ever hear him speaking for long periods of time, I don’t know how to explain it, but someone mentioned how he’s an old soul. As if he’s lived so many lives and is so mature and is wise beyond his *years.* It’s really cool because it transfers into his songwriting. *_(Agust D drops “D-Day” & Disney+ docu “Road to D-Day” on the 21st) tracklist is out!_* 💜

You're so right about their use of analogies when they write their lyrics and Suga is about as straightforward as they come. Suga's emotions coming out about not having enough love as a child and his severe, unhappy teenage life tears at my heart. He's a treasure to the world though and I hope he gets all the love he needs now. And can we please boast about his singing here, too? Besides the beautiful words, his soft and gentle voice while singing makes the vibe even better. BTW, that black guitar is his favorite. Like you, I loved the video as it supports the mood of the lyrics. To me, Yoongi is a genius poet and composer. I am always willing to hear what he has to say and absorb his beautiful compositions.

yoongi uses sandcastles to compare life and relationships to it (he did it on seesaw too). i love the part where he says “forever is something like a sandcastle, you know. it comes crumbling down at the calmest of waves” because it’s true. having sincere relationships with people is something that we should cherish because now everything would last long without even realizing that even the most stable relationship could crumble just like that if it is taken for granted.

(We didnt know that his first 2 free mixtapes were part of a Triology until now.) He also stated that he will be "retiring" Agust D, as he no longer lives with that past anger and he has forgiven his haters. He said that people close to him have mentioned how much more mellow he is, now that he is getting older and maturing. He's 30 now. Suga originally wanted to be a basketball player. He has the skills but didn't have the height to play professionally. Thank you for digging deep into the lyrics. And from Yoongi's interviews, you got exactly the vibe he wanted to convey with from this video. Normalcy, warmth, just a person living their life. Which is what he lost during Covid, as so many of us did. All this is more examples of why ARMY is in this Bangtan Sonyeondan shit for life!

Yoongi learned to play piano when younger and learned guitar a couple of years ago. I recommend "First love" which is like a conversation with his piano but it's about his love for music. He's so open and honest with his lyrics 💜 (PS: You can find vids of Yoongi playing and singing with his guitar during live streams)

Fun fact: Suga has a KZbin show called Suchwita where he interviews other artists, ARMY made a meme about how he was going to have to interview himself with Agust-D... and in fact, he did xD no like an episode of his show but as part of the promotion of D-DAY and the documentary that is going to be released on Disney +. It was fucking funny to see the meme come to life. 😂

The way Yoongi writes is incredible. Every time I see someone appreciating his lyrics who doesn't speak Korean makes me a bit frustrated(? for the lack of a better word) because so much gets lost in translation - the word choice, the way he weaves his words together... it's so beautiful. The same goes for Namjoon and Hobi, but Yoongi in particular writes so very beautifully. It's hard to describe in English but man... As for IU, yes, you're saying her name right! She's probably the only other artist in Korea who's considered to be near the level BTS is on (domestically, she's probably even bigger than BTS tbh. A lot of S.Koreans don't listen to idol groups (idol groups in general in Korea are often considered to not be "real" singers/artists, which is why BTS talk a lot about that in their songs - do check out their song idol, it speaks a lot about their identity as both idols, but also as Koreans!), but IU sits in a in-between kinda of zone where she's both considered to be an idol but also a singer) due to her vocal range (which is HUGE) as well as her writing (iirc she's the most credited female idol song writer... or she might be second but yeah) and her overall image (both BTS and IU are known for their pretty clean-wholesome image). Others have already mentioned her song eight which Yoongi featured on a while ago, but there's also a short clip they filmed of them singing people pt 2 together! kzbin.info/www/bejne/aqqQm5WFbdJ6hpI Also just wanted to point out that the boys have been using purple flowers a lot lately to represent ARMY (the fans). It's especially heart warming how the shot of Yoongi with the purple flowers just happens to be when he says "you're already more than enough to be loved"

Hi, I think that a lot of people were expecting him to drop a song like Daechwita. I was a little surprised he dropped a chill song, but I loved it. I have a feeling the next two MV's he has planned will be completely different from this as well. And J-Hope is on one of them. By the way J-Hope is reporting for duty tomorrow. He will be in basic training in the South Korean Army for 5 weeks, then he will be assigned his position. I'm sure all of the guys will be there to send him off. Jungkook redid his schedule in the USA so he could be there for his enlistment ceremony. Anyway, we are going to miss him, but 18 months will go by fast. Thank you for the reaction to this song. I really do enjoy your energy and perspective. Here is another resource for subtitled videos and lyric breakdowns. They've been around for a long time. It's a collective of ARMY's that do the translations. I usually check out doolset first, then bangtan subs, then I'll go to Enjoy BTS More for a lyric video, or live performance. I think she has the live version of this. It's also on IU's Pallette (Her talk show). He had an interview with her, and they performed 3 songs. www.bangtansubs.com/people-pt-2-feat-iu

BTS: An unassuming deep af bar Listener: Daaaamnnnn, I never even thought to think that. Damn. 😂 I love that you take your time with them, man. Thanks for sharing more about yourself too. Much love to you from the east coast 💜 Edit: Just dropping a line on views or unfavorable opinions on this song. Personally, I loved this song right away. I've never heard IU dig in on R&B style vocals like this. This song is also kind of in a time capsule. It's a pandemic song that he released years later, and this is a pre-release to his album. RM's latest album, despite him being my bias of this group, it took me a few listens before I locked in. Just how it is. Some songs you just find yourself craving later when you didn't feel that strongly about it on first listen. I hope that makes sense.

Yoongi is like a lifeline to me. I can feel this with all of the members, but Yoongi makes me feel a connection with him that is so hard to explain. His lyrics always resonate with me and touch me deeply, they comfort me and make me think about a situation from a different perspective. The line that touched you at the beginning also touched me because I was also neglected during my childhood. Hell knows how much I wish to form a deep connection with new people but it is so hard for me to fully trust and feel loved. At the same time when these thoughts come to my head, feeling that I am not enough to be loved, you have the last lines of this song saying ''If you can't hold it back it's okay to cry, you're already more than enough to be loved'' and it feels like a warm hug. knowing that these lyrics are directed to us for comfort but also to himself just forms a deep connection that we're exactly craving for.

Just so you know (if you didn't) that the English chorus (that IU sings) is actually a lot of double/triple negatives but if you also notice a lot of the double/triple negatives are paired up with something that is told to be timeless/eternal which is contradicting.... (Here is another person on twitter that explains it better, but will put link under this comment) I personally wasn't the biggest fan of the song at first. I loved the lyrics (although I had a hard time with the chorus, but I knew it had meaning) and I loved Yoongi's part throughout the whole song, especially his singing which we don't get to hear a lot (p.s. you can hear his growth which is cool). Idk IU's part took me a while to get into (not that she is a bad singer, she isn't just not normally my style of singing). IU's voice is interesting to me because I have mixed emotions about her voice, because just her style of voice isn't usually my taste. However, over time and after I listened to it in a certain mood, I grew to really like the song. P.S. It would be great if you could react to IU's Pallet with Suga (which is like an interview with a few performances). They perform Eight (which I recommend checking out with dkdktv explanation video), People, and People pt. 2.

Thanks for sharing a bit of vulnerability with us! One of the things that they taught me, especially Yoongi (Agust D), is that it's ok to be vulnerable. Personally, I think People and People Pt 2 may seem like completely different vibes but there are still the same roots of longing and how people around us affect us, and how we affect them. It's just a different facet of the same diamond. I completely agree with what you said about the lyrics being like a puzzle that we have to decipher. Some people were complaining about the English lyrics, saying that they were gibberish and nonsense and that it reflected badly on his work. What they need to take into consideration is that English isn't his first language, AND he has poetic license as an artist. Having said that, the English lyrics still evoke feelings within us so it's not gibberish at all!

A bit of explanation on the views - it’s been nearly a month since Like Crazy was released so when we streamed the mv along with People Pt.2 we noticed that millions of views (around 3/4M views) were being deleted for Like Crazy in real time which kind of diverted priorities to Jimin’s release. Not only that the blatant sabotage done by Billboard to knock Jimin out of the top 10 ( #1 to #45) on the Billboard hot 100. Like Crazy in it’s second week sold over 120K+ copies which several articles covered and commented on how it can still maintain his #1 position only for Billboard to count 14K sales overall. So basically for week 2 , 90% of his sales were filtered.

I started laughing when you said Yoongi can do everything and asked if he can surf too, because he HAS surfed! 🤣 That's not to say he is a surfer, but in BTS' travel tv show, Bon Voyage in Hawaii (season 2), all the members learned how to surf. Yoongi did quite well, as they all did, and managed to stay up a lot of times on the waves (all that dancing probably helped with the core strength and coordination needed). I'm enjoying your break down of music/lyrics! Their variety shows and fan made vids that are funny/give info can be great/fun, but since BTS are musical artists first and foremost, I'm personally happy to see you sticking with the music! At least for now...maybe ARMY will get you into the other stuff later on. 😜

I was born in the early 80s so I‘m familiar with 90s rnb and I love that it’s coming back. I think that is one part of what makes them to popular. Their writing in analogies and painting pictures with words is a way how many many more people could identify with the lyrics. Everyone can find their own interpretation. And that is inclusion for me. And art, of course.

Actually, Hybe has nothing to do with BTS productions, BigHit Music is their company, a fully independent subsidiary, which has only 3 artists, BTS being one of them plus now 7 soloists. The production, schedule and promotion of the BTS members’ solo work is based on each members’ choices, decisions, and coordination among them, while having the BTS come back projected for after 2025. These are 7 grown men fully in charge of their careers and lives, and with a clear understanding not only of their power over their on company but also of their huge influence in the music industry world wide; so, pls stop creating drama where there isn’t any.

I love this song and the message, it's not for everyone, especially since the message is so deep. Your commentary hit me to my core, just like this song because I do/have felt everything that you've mentioned. As for his musicality, as others have mentioned, Yoongi does play guitar, piano and keyboard. He also plays the organ! As for their videos, when you go back to their origins, be sure to check out 1theK for official videos WITH captions. BigHit shifted their views to 1theK for their old videos because they captioned them about 7 years ago, so you'll see those pop up. They are official views. I cannot wait for his new album!!!! I think people who aren't big fans of this one were maybe expecting a "harder" song like Daechwita or something...who knows??? He has already said that only 3 or 4 of the 10 songs on the album are harder, and the rest won't be. And, yes, he plays piano/keyboard and guitar. He has several guitars, but in this vid he's using his Johnny Cash black acoustic....my fave. We got some promo pics of him the other day and in one of the pics it looks like he's playing an electric guitar....so we'll see. Don't know how interested you'd be, but he has a documentary coming out on Disney+ about making this album and his journey to find the joy in his music/dream again. That line about people being cruel and love being cruel -- it has some wordplay in Korean that I think you'll like. The song is called "People," of course, and that's "saram" in Korean. But "love" is "sarang," and the two words are pronounced almost exactly the same. Yoongi even thought about just calling the song "Sara" so that listeners could decide for themselves how to interpret it, but that didn't work because "sara" is *another* Korean word and it would have been confusing.... Anyway, thanks so much for your honest, *deep* reactions. Watching your videos is like learning from a really cool professor.
