i bought this helmet about 2 months ago and i'm loving it, my head dose not get hot on warm days and keeps it pretty warm on clod nights. The visor is easy to take off and put on and the added internal visor is awesome as i don't have to wear sun glass's all in all IMO its a great helmet for the price.

It does have a deflector although it's marginal. AGV supply a "fog resistant" visor that has been treated, but yes, they fog up like most every other visor will, just not as badly. The visor is indented so having it cracked just enough to allow airflow without being to cold. It's a fantastic helmet for the money and is incredibly comfortable. I would get the SV version just to have the tint option without carrying or changing shields for day/night.

Hey, sorry I have no experience with the LS2 brand. In all honesty it would be difficult to find a helmet at this price range that beats the K3. For comfortability, aggressive looks and good air channeling. HJC are now making some great helmets and their prices are hundreds of dollars below the top range but stand equally, if not taller than some of the bigger brands. All helmets on the market are safe, not many safer than others, although the options are where you will pay. Interior materials, clip fasteners and air channeling are where your money goes. My advice is find your price range, get a few helmets together and then try them all on for at least half an hour before you purchase. Out of the bunch you have you can then deliberate on the trimmings like materials and airflow. Hope this helps mate : )

Just bought one. Replacing a nolan n43. Which i hated. So far the AGV is far superior. Much quieter, a lot more comfortable and better airflow management (even tho i use the nolan in open face configuration) and it was $100 cheaper... I feel much safer with an AGV than I did with the Nolan too. Edit: 4 years on and it is still a bloody good lid. Im gonna go get an AGV compact ST as the K3sv is coming up to end of life...

I just bought this helmet. According the Revzilla's sizing chart, I would be a large (I'm exactly 59cm) . In reading the reviews, people were saying this helmet runs small so I got an XL. It's still on the tighter side and hope it loosens up once the padding wears. Go with XXL. My Sena does fit great in this helmet.

I ride a BMW R1150 RT. It is a sport touring bike with a large electronically adjusted windscreen. I use two helmets, a flip up Schuberth C3 Pro and the AGV K3 SV. The Schuberth costs twice as much as the AGV. I find that the AGV, while not at the same quality level, is a good helmet. Its only drawback is the noise level, which is higher than the flip up Schuberth! No matter how I adjust the screen, the noise level gets annoying above 80 km/h (50 mph). So I always use earplugs with it. Other than the noise it is a great value for money helmet. I like the shape, the design, the excellent ventilation and the fact that it is not heavy For a polycarbonate helmet. I also like the drop down sun visor, which is dark enough to use even here in Greece. So I recommend it, just buy some earplugs...

Very happy with my AGV K3 SV 5 Continents helmet. It's very comfortable and the ventilation is perfect making it not fog up in the cold and not overheat in the warmer weather. I've heard comments about it being noisy but as I am usually travelling at 90 or less it's not been an issue for me.

I hated the old K3 fit, and in general agv fit, hurts my ears. Tried putting on a k3-sv, impressed at improved finishing and increased spacings where necessary. I would choose the k3-sv over k3 and k4 evo without any hesitation, but that's just me. I suggest you [other users] try on a helmet before you decide to purchase it. Thumbs up for the great review ZLA team, as always.

I bought this helmet in March (and it's now the end of August) and I love it. Really nice looking helmet and very comfortable. I like the front vent that operates easily with your thumb on the inside. My only gripe is that the top vents don't do anything. Open or closed is the same, no airflow. If you look into the vent there is the high density foam blocking the hole. No was air is going to pass through that...not sure what they were thinking. But even in 90° humid weather, the chin vent and ability to crack the shield cools me down well without being loud. I would recommend getting the next shade darker on the sun visor. The stock one is too light of a smoke to protect from the sun.

This is my first helmet. Have put 1k miles with it and I could not be happier. I absolutely HATE the internal sun visor, I ended up taking mine out. It was useless for me, and when it was retracted I could see the bottom of the visor in my field of vision. Has anyone else taken this out of their helmet? I highly doubt there is any downside. I've been good to go wearing sunglasses with clear visor, although I'd like to get a pinlock ready iridium visor soon. So other than the internal visor, it is so comfortable and the air flow is incredible. It does not get too hot, the wind noise might be higher than a helmet in a higher price range. Use some earplugs and you're all set. The visor is so easy to remove, all in all a great helmet for 200 bucks.

Hey Revzilla! I've purchased a k3 sv in ms, I'm finding the helmet fits well but the cheeks are just not snug, my crown is great and i feel a uniform pressure everywhere except at my cheeks, i dont believe the helmet will move a lot but for my piece of mind i would like a slightly more snug fit. Would you recommend a small replacement liner inside? Or would that create more space within the shell . Thanks heaps and apologies if this question has been asked a million times!

No, the K1 has a similar thermoplastic shell like the K3 SV, but the K1 does not have an internal sun visor. Neither is better, they're just different. If you prefer the K1, get the K1. -DrewZilla

Hey, can i know the difference between the European fit and Asian fit? I was told that the European one does not have DD-ring and also no visor lock-down mechanism. Do you have any info on this?

I believe the European version has a ratchet strap. However, I do not know about the visor mechanism. We only have access to the US versions. I believe the Asian fit is rounder at the crown of the head, while the European version is more oval/egg-shaped. -DrewZilla

The RPHA 11 offers a lot more venting than the K3 SV. The K3 SV has decent venting, but the RPHA 11 has the most venting of any full-face helmet currently. -DrewZilla

I got a K3-SV as well but the rear spoiler is added to the shell rather than integrated into its shape. Did they use older shells from the original K3 and just "bolted" the spoiler to it when making the transition?

Love the helmet for street use. I have a pista gpr. Love it, very light, cuts through air well BUT its annoying for everyday use if you commute to work. In my case i leave for work really early with no sunlight and come home when its mid afternoon and very sunny, so swapping visors got annoying and in winter the pistas vents were only able to be closed with rubber inserts. So, i bought the k3 sv for daily duties and use the pista on the weekends. Cant fault it, inbuilt visor and adjustable vents, also love the extra noise isolation of the k3 compared to the pista

Hey, I'm really struggling to decide between this helmet and the Bell qualifier dlx MIPS. On the Bell I really like the UV transitional visor and the bluetooth compatibility, but the shape of the AGV is really hard to pass on. Is there much of a difference in wind noise between the two? any input on which one I should buy? Thanks

Not sure if you've made your decision or not, but I was choosing between the same and ultimately went with the AGV. I tried both on and the Qualifier didn't feel like it was well balance. Just standing still my head wanted to roll around. I also got a sore neck after only 5 minutes. The sore neck continued for several hours after I took the helmet off. That could just be my head, not sure. But the AGV didn't leave me feeling that way at all. So I chose the K3 SV. It just came in this week. So far, after wearing it at work to see if there are pressure points and and I'm having no issues.

When you talk about new cheek pads do make it fit tighter, do I just buy the smaller sized pads? I have L size that fits nice and snug, but want a slightly more snugger fit

What are the main differences between the K3 SV and the K5 S? I generally just use my Fazer 600 for commuting. Is the K5 S worth the extra money? Or should I just get the K3 SV for commuting/street riding.

The K3 SV uses a more affordable thermoplastic shell, while the K5 S uses a nicer carbon-fiberglass shell and nicer interior liner. For commuting and street riding, you're probably fine with the K3 SV. -DrewZilla

enthuesd Yes, Sena and Cardo speakers will fit, but have larger diameter speakers than the AGV speakers (not yet available), so they're a very tight fit with the cheek pads. The cheek pads just don't have as much of a cut-out as we'd like. Again, it's not impossible. It's just not ideal. -DrewZilla

Hey Revzilla, did you guys have a new camera operator for close ups? I find it very annoying that these close up shots kept using the focus in and out at the same time panning or tilting in and out of the point of interest. Makes people try to do brain power magic telekinesis thing to 'try to move' the camera to where the interest should be. I'd recommend that shots be precise to where Anthony is describing the details and to show exactly what he is explaining, instead of lingering around other parts as if an amateur just looking for 'beautiful' shots. You know, the 'oh, this is going to look beautiful with this focus in and out thing and me tilting this way'. This focus in and out while panning or tilting can be beautiful shots, but overdoing it just makes people lose focus. Just my 2 cents.

What is the fitment like compared to the regular K3? I tried on the K3 at a local motorcycle gear shop in a size medium and it fit me perfectly, but I prefer the SV, which they did not have. I notice they come in either MS or ML.

Bought this helmet recently. I wear glasses and would say it is absolutely NOT 'compatible', i.e. there are no grooves for the arms of glasses. Nevertheless I have no issues wearing mine, just takes a bit of persuasion to get them on.

Any specs on noise levels? Looking for a cheapish helmet that has low end noise levels. No motorway/highway action but back roads and around town. Live in the UK so it can get windy even in the summer. Got a c3 atm. But only got £200 and not the £500-600 a c3 pro costs.

+Jacko Linked below are cheek pads for the K3 SV. Cheek pads are only interchangeable within each shell size. The shell breakdown is XS-MS and ML-2XL. For the smaller shell, size XS cheek pads are the thickest, and MS cheek pads are the thinnest. For the larger shell, ML cheek pads are thickest, and 2XL cheek pads are thinnest. The Shoei's composite shell is nicer than the polycarbonate AGV shell, but the removable/washable AGV liner is nicer than the non-removable Shoei liner. The Shoei does not have an internal sun visor either, so if you like internal sun visors, the AGV is better. -DrewZilla
