AH-64D Apache - Hercules Down | DCS |

A few hours ago, a RAF C-130 flying to Tbilisi suffered a major mechanical malfunction. The crew bailed out and were recovered safely by Georgian forces. Ironically, the aircraft glided in for a "crash landing" in a rural part of southwestern South Ossetia, near the Georgian border.
The aircraft is loaded with sensitive communications equipment destined for British Army units currently participating in an exercise with the Georgian Army. While the C-130 was severely damaged, its fuselage appears to be in one piece; the sensitive cargo is probably undamaged.
South Ossetians will take action to prevent the UK from recovering the aircraft and/or its cargo. While South Ossetia forces have not reached the crash site, yet, they are on their way.
Permanent Joint Staff Head Quarters (PJHQ) has put the exercise on hold ordered its forces in Georgia to immediately secure the site and recover as much of the cargo as possible.
A scratch British Army convoy has formed up in Korbouli and will drive to the site from the west.
A detachment consisting of two RAF 663 Squadron AH-64D, deployed to a FARP Thunder outside Khashuri (only 23 Km south of the crash site) is been tasked to find and secure the crash site and the road leading to it from Korbouli.
