In Indonesia, we recognize as Kolintang not Marimba. I'm not music expert but the Marimba is played better than the Kolintang. Warm regards.

They are just marimbas with out accidentals, much similar to the much older marimbas invented in Africa

Tamara Busch Don’t worry, what you are calling attention to is the result of my teaching style. I really don’t want Music to be fun and especially have kids show they are having fun on their faces while playing. I want them to look terrified and or board in front of the 600 people they are playing in front of. You must not have watched the end, they had a little fun there at the end and I had to fire the group.

Dylan Hatley You are totally right! What was I thinking as a teacher! I should shut down my program and never let a “non-percussionist” play a marimba. I’m just encouraging kids to try to do something fun when then the odds (and KZbin marching band trolls) are stacked against them, I’m such an idiot!

Michael Charles Smith I apologize for coming off as mean and negative. As a percussionist, I felt the need to point this out and I'm sorry for that. I did however say that it sounded good. I love to see kids trying new instruments, especially percussion. These kids did remarkably well for what they were playing and for being non-percussionists. Great job!
