Ahankaar is a Hindi film directed by Ashim Samanta and starring Mithun Chakraborty , Mamta Kulkarni , Prem Chopra , Gulshan Grover and Mohnish Behl in lead roles.
Synopsis:
It is the story of a woman, her step-son, her biological son, daughter and alcoholic husband. A freak accident happens where Prabhat ( Mithun Chakraborty ), while saving his step-mother, is struck mute. A kind factory owner gives him a job, allowing him to raise his step-brother, sister and step-mother while his father is in prison. Prabhat uncovers the plot to defraud his boss and puts the culprit in jail. This invites vengeance into his own home.
Then when the grateful owner offers him the position of manager of the business, Prabhat gets his stepbrother Surya ( Mohnish Behl ) a job, but soon loses his own job. Naina ( Mamta Kulkarni ), Prabhat's childhood friend, loves him and is his constant source of support and encouragement. She also fights her parents' disapproval for him. Influenced by a group of fraudsters, Surya commits fraud.
