just found your videos a few days ago and been tryin to watch all of them. I wish the teachers my girls had in school was like you!! They didnt supply one thing in the class room and with 3 kids,money was tight. I home school them now, but just want to say thanks for being a kind teacher to your kids in the classroom,you never know what a family goes through to get the never ending list of school supplies when its one monthly check from disability.

I love your videos. Thank you SO much. It must take a lot of work.I love learning about the other side of the world. I'm in Western Australia and we are in the middle of winter and the third term of our teaching year. I'm enjoying the Start of the Year videos that are out now. I'm taking a lot of notes.

You made me laugh and feel so much better about my "ordinary days"! I love your love for Boo. My Baby Girl was sitting next to me (and the computer) when you said, "Baby Girl" when talking to Boo and she was very interested in who was calling her name. Her 16th birthday is today and as weird as it might sound, she was thinking you were talking to her. Thank you for being you!!!

I have bad experiences with Wal-Mart too!!! It is always something. On a positive note, I am glad you were able to get what you could for your students.

I don't understand why some people have such bad experiences at Wal-Mart. In all my years going there (est. 20+ years), I've had less than a handful of issues - and in hindsight, they weren't all that big of deals.

So relaxing to watch this tonight!! Oh, I'd leave the folders!!! Tell them there's a prize for the first person to find the mistake ;) this will encourage the kids to hand over the folder to their parents! Xx

Tina, Thank you so much for this video. I felt so relaxed watching it. I got back home for another very long day in my classroom. I almost quit half way through because it just felt like I would never get it done! So frustrating. This is my third year in the same district and every before-back-to-school year, I thought about quitting teaching and work somewhere else *sigh*. Tuesday next week is our first day back with the students. I don't have any lesson plans done yet 😔. I need to start making my own pampering kit for days like this. When you mentioned putting on a mask, I thought oooh, that sounds so very relaxing. I want want, too. Then I realized that I don't have any mask. Lesson learned 😜.

AH! I bought the exact same folders at Staples for my home folders! I found that a page protector fits into the prongs without sticking out when the folder is closed.

Hello Tina, I love your videos and you are such an inspiration! I did notice a typo when you showed the homework folders. You typed: "I am very busy working with you child..." It is only a minor error, but I just wanted you to have a head's up. I am anxiously awaiting your room reveal! Have a great day!!!

My elementary school always prints out handouts in other languages. I know in another video of yours you mentioned some students speak absolutely no English, and you had to purchase Kindles with apps on learning English. Does your school not offer a program that helps the students learn English?

If you have a lot of parents who don't speak English, do you also send communications home in the other languages they speak? Just curious :)

Here is a trick to remove sharpie from surfaces like notebooks or folders: use an alcohol swab, or just straight ethanol, to rub the marker off the surface. The marker pigment is soluble in alcohol, so it should come off easily. Test it out and see if it works for you, hope this is helpful!
@Angela25B8 жыл бұрын
You can also scribble over Sharpie with a dry erase marker and the whole thing will wipe off. Works well on slick surfaces and no more hunting for the nail polish remover.

I would have asked to speak to the manager. Even with fine print of they put the signs in the wrong areas they have to honor it.
@mckenna86638 жыл бұрын
Having worked in retail (as a side job) I'll tell you, that's not true. ESPECIALLY in this situation (back-to-school craziness when everyone is throwing everything everywhere). That's why there IS small print on the signs - to make sure you don't pick up a $3.00 item in front of a 10 cent sign and say, "I want it for 10 cents." If you throw a fit insisting you need it for 10 cents.. I hope you conscience tells you that you are cheating someone else (the store, in this case). Honestly, I don't agree with her reasoning. If you find them for 50 cents at one store and that is a great deal...do you really think that another store has the same thing for 15 cents? To me, that sets off an alarm in my head that this is probably in the wrong section. - When it comes to back-to-school ESPECIALLY, I always use the price finder laser to confirm everything before taking it to the register and wasting my time.
@mcg2678 жыл бұрын
+Mc Kenna I didn't read your full comment honestly, but I've worked in retail too for many years. Everywhere I've worked we've had to honor our signs even if they were in the wrong spot, outdated, etc. it's the employees/managers responsibility to make sure it's right.
@mckenna86638 жыл бұрын
mcg267 you're right... you honor your SIGNS...not if something is placed in that area for some other reason. (and with back-to-school that happens a LOT- - it would have helped to read my response.
@mcg2678 жыл бұрын
+Mc Kenna haha. I'm not gonna get into a debate with you. It's cool.
@mcg2678 жыл бұрын
+mcg267 I'm saying that if the product is in the wrong spot/sign in the wrong spot. You still honor it. I've always had to. Maybe my managers were pushovers who knows and who cares. It's not my money.
