This fall, The Army Historical Foundation will host a Battle Ride to the Battleship New Jersey Memorial & Museum and American Helicopter Museum & Education Center to present a Vietnam era program focused on land, air, and sea. Battle Ride participants will learn about joint operations between the Army and Navy during the Tet Offensive aboard the Navy’s most decorated battleship and world’s only battleship in operation during the Vietnam War.
The Battle Ride will include a lecture and guided tour aboard BB-62 with the Director of Education & Curatorial Affairs, and Battleship New Jersey’s KZbin Channel star, Ryan Szimanski. Following the guided program, participants will enjoy a catered BBQ Lunch provided by Andreotti’s catering with one of the Battleship’s veterans who served aboard ship during the Vietnam War.
After lunch, the Battle Ride will depart for the American Helicopter Museum & Education Center for a guided tour to learn about Army and Vietnam era aviation.
The Battle Ride includes admission, guided programs, lunch, and snacks and two different options to travel to each location. Participants can either choose to ride on a charter bus or to drive themselves and meet their fellow participants at the locations designated on the itinerary. The charter bus ticket option is $160 for Foundation members and $190 for non-members and the option to drive yourself is $115 for Foundation members and $135 for non-members.
