I’m glad everything’s worked out for Ahmed Best. I get why fans had their problems with his character, the prequels, 7, 8, the Disney era etc. I’ll admit I’m one of them (not the online attackers) but that’s no excuse for what he, Jake Lloyd, Hayden Christensen, Kelly Marie Tran and everybody else has had to go through. End of the day they are just movies that led to plenty of great SW comics, novels, video games etc and some of us had never even heard of Star Wars before TPM which introduced me to the franchise. I'll be the first to admit that I wasn't a huge Jar Jar fan but the abuse Ahmed received was disgusting. It's really heartwarming to see the fans recognise the man regardless of how they feel about the character and show him so much love. You can tell that he was overwhelmed by the positive reception. Both he and Kelly deserved the reception they received at Celebration and is a wonderful reminder that genuine Star Wars fans are some of the best in the world.
