Just my thoughts here, but I think it'd be a nice follow up for you to make a video titled something "How much more than 200$ should you spend on a chair", where you go up in chair prices until you get to a point where you can honestly recommend the chair as "having everything you want, anything more is purely luxery if you have more money to spend". I'm one of those who doesn't mind spending a more (not a fortune either of course) if it'll get me more functionnality/long term durability and those kinds of videos I feel are kinda few and far between on youtube. Great vid though, gained a sub

100% agree, always find that bottom of the barrel prices on most goods gives you trash that won't last while spending top prices isn't worth it for the majority of us. Having a sweet spot to aim for would be nice!

The Sorina was the last chair I had before I got my Embody gaming chair last year. Maybe I got a bad one, but after 6-7 months of use, the faux leather started to crack and peel, exposing the fabric and stuffing underneath. Just something to note that wouldn't be revealed until down the line. It was decently comfy, and the flip up arms were plus. But I found the lack of adjustability in the back rest and the lackluster quality in the upholstery to be big factors for me to ditch cheaper chairs and splurge on something more premium. Oh and congrats on #3!

Nah you didn't get a bad one. All fake leather eventually cracks and peels apart until you're just sitting on the white plastic material underneath. My first computer chair from Staples did that and a task chair I bought used for $10 at a garage sale did the same thing. The latter was barely used and within that same timeline the fake leather was all broken apart. For long use fabric is the way to go until the the padding goes flat. Mesh is only long terms if it's a high end chair like Herman Miller. I had a Office Depot mesh chair fail within the year where the mesh seat stretched out on about 8 hours a day use. I was sitting on the plastic frame, got it replaced once, and it did the same thing within a year. the company eventually just refunded me rather than send me replacement parts and chairs.

Some serious issues with the Dexley worth mentioning: 1. Loosening seat mesh - tends to loosen up significantly within around a year, at which point you start to feel serious pressure on your thighs from the front edge of the seat frame. 2. Upright tilt lock recline - When tilt locked upright, the backrest still tilts about 10-15 degrees. There is virtually no way to task fully upright in a Dexley. This design flaw drives many users crazy. 3. The seat frame is constricting for users with thick thighs, but the armrests are very far apart.
@Crazy_Vulpix

As a Dexley owner, #2 is why I'm looking into other options for a future upgrade. Edit: Otherwise, no complaints, countered the other two issues mentioned here with a seat cushion.

@@jackboxer7537 no, if i sit forward to push in the handle it stays in the upright position but if my back is touching in any way it will lock onto the next position and lean back a bit. I am guessing that is what you are describing. Also i only have the chair for 2 full days so maybe it happens in time not sure. Seems to be 3 tilt lock positions upright, middle and all the way back

Multifunction mechanism! That's what the Carder has that allows you to adjust the backrest angle independently of the seat angle. It's actually quite common in the chair market!
@StardustLegacyFighter

It's a very poorly implemented mechanism, hence why most high-end offics chairs don't use it.

@StardustLegacyFighter the multifunction mechanism itself can be robust. It's just not very user-friendly with its plethora of intimidating levers, nor the most ergonomic because it discourages movement.

Good to see we agree the Carder is the best Staples chair under $200. I also agree that its armrests are too far forward. I am very curious whether the Carder's armrests can be installed backward, and whether that would set them too far back or closer to just right. Edit: The Carder's specs mention an unusually low maximum seat height? Can you confirm please? 🙏

Staples Ayalon chair is the best they sell. Its $250. I actually replaced my Haworth Fern with it, because the fern became uncomfortable to me after a year and I started having low pack pain with it. The Aylon is incredibly comfortable for its price. The seat is firmer than the Fern, but softens up after breaking in. The best part though is that I feel it will last for years and not flatten out. I can sit in this chair for 8+ hours and when I get up the cushion is still like I never sat in it at all, nice and firm and plush. Also, it has the same tension system as the Fern, comes with Synchro tilt and tilt lock. My only (minor) complaint would be the the back lumbar position. The lumbar is built in with the s-curve shape and actually feels a lot more supportive than my Fern did without the added lumbar, but since im 6'2 its just a tad lower on my back than id like, but its only an issue when im sitting with the back completely up straight. Once you lean back a little it really nestles into the sweet spot of your low back.

@@Ahnestly Its actually a combination of chairs from Eurotech. It has the Eurotech Exchange backrest, with the Eurotech Vera seat, arms and wheelbase. Wha'ts crazier is the Exchange is marked as a $900 chair from Eurotech, and the Vera is almost $1000 from them. BTOD sells the Vera for $460, yet you can get this combo chair from Staples for $250. BTOD also sells a headrest for the Vera for $60, but it fits the backrest of the Ayalon (Exchange) perfectly. So that is another option if people want a chair with a headrest. Would love it if you did a video that included this chair, cause its seriously great.

@@kalebaskwith3984 See my other comments about this chair. As I said, its actually a combination of parts of much higher quality chairs from Eurotech that Staples sells in their own custom config for dirt cheap. Hi Dan this is a very specific question but do you have any recommendations for someone with cocyx / tailbone issues? I bruised mine about a year ago and since then don't sit at my desk alot because of it I have an IKEA jarvfjallet but found the seat very hard so got a cushion with the cutout but because it raises me up so much I have to lower the seat which actually makes it a bit uncomfortable and renders the lumbar support useless. The pillow doesn't really do it after a while I feel discomfort especially when getting up. If you've any recommendations that would be great thanks

You've already got one of the best chairs ever made, lol. None of these picks from Staples can remotely compare, regardless of the fact that they're significantly cheaper. None of them have the durability, ergonomic adjustments, or warranty to rival the Embody. At the end of the day, one shouldn't cheap out on back health.
