If I'm not mistaken it also has some similarity to something Samurai do when either giving up a title or entering a significant change of life. So it could represent Sabine deciding to rededicate herself to her training rather than the lax lifestyle she'd settled into.

I mean.. from a writing standpoint there's a number of things they could do to make sense of all that. For example how did they both end up in another galaxy? Maybe they aren't anymore because they saw some horrifying creatures like the Vong and somehow got out as soon as they possibly could due to the Yuuzhan Vong being well.. the Yuuzhan Vong lol Like I said just an example. I doubt they will go that way with it but my point is they could literally make up anything to fill in the unknowns and there is no reason to definitively believe that after all this time (years later) they are still in the same place. I find speculation to be fun at times but only time will tell.

@newcadbane7339 it would have if he had used the world between world to get back, something Thrawn can't access. Not that it matters now since it's definitely not Ezra, but that doesn't mean you can't write a reason behind him returning without Thrawn, and was only "turned" after he made it back but before he could contact Spectre Squadron.... Ezra is STILL a really powerful force user, and do you believe that they would just both be sat waiting around? Becoming good friends? Waiting to be on screen again to continue their rivalry? Stuck in stasis? Wtf do you actually think they've been doing all these years lol.

I’ve read a lot of legends continuity titles, whether in comic books or novels. In them, force sensitivity wasn’t reserved only for the Jedi. Wedge Antilles, Han Solo and a host of other skilled pilots and/or warriors could tap into the force according to these older stories. That must’ve been George’s intent regarding the force. It wasn’t just relegated to the Jedi and the Sith. After all, the Jedi could not have possibly identified every force sensitive child in the galaxy considering they didn’t find Anakin
@djcetra
@djcetra Жыл бұрын
Legends were never anything to take seriously, never canon. Force Sensitivity is a must for all Jedi & Sith period. As long as this remains true for Sabine, she will never be anything other than a False Jedi. That doesn't mean she won't be good, but she'll always be sub-par in comparison. She's a warrior with a Lightsaber.
@TheRealAlpha2

The fact is George had it said even in Episode 4 that the force was in everything Later the use if Midichlorians was used to measure how intune ones was with the Force, So all if it is still fairly canon enough to say that Technically anyone can use the Force to a degree, but obviously people who 1) weren't trained from childhood and 2) don't have a "high M count" (phrase used in reference to Grogu) aren't going to be lifting too much with their mind.

Hold on ... Han wasn't force sensitive, Chewbacca was. Don't believe me ? Take a look at the scene when they are running away from the empire , into an asteroid field. This is the scene that everyone pointed to saying Han is force sensitive. But Han isn't driving Chewbacca is , when they leave to step in the back and try to fix it they tell Leia to take over. And she sits in Chewbaccas seat to do so . Hell Han even takes his hand and points where he wants Chewbacca to land when they fly into the monsters mouth. There's a billion more scenes like this in all the movies with Chewbacca in it. Have fun catching them.

I really liked these first two episodes, they held my interest the entire time and I didnt really see anything off with how the characters were portrayed emotionally. Baylan is such a good character so far, can't wait to see more of him in the season and so sad to know that Ray Stevenson passed before the show could even come out. When his name came up in the credits it made me sad. Sorry, Paul... But, the HK assassin droids an evolution of the magnaguard. They might use the same electro-staff sort of weapons, but the Magnaguard were built just for Greivous. The HK series have been around for a while, since the Old Republic(in Legends). Sabine was the one that designed the logo/emblem for Pheonix Squadron. The recreation of the Rebels finale isn't a retcon, either, i dont think. Everyone seems to think it is...but...what the hell is everyone in the show referring to with Sabine and Ahsoka not getting along and being known for not getting along? The training Sabine underwent with Ahsoka had to take place after the end of rebels, with Ahsoka in the white robes. The partnership didnt work, so they split. All the shots that "recreate" it arent quote close enough. Theyre close, but only in the poetic sense of rhyming in star wars. The similarities and differences between the first departure and the second are deliberate. And the characters leaning into that is like making it ritualistic; to try this again, begin it the same way as last time. Its a recognition of repetition in an attempt to do better than last time

What you started talking about around the 21:00 minute mark intrigues me. Reminds me of the lore in the KOTOR games- depending on your relationship, interactions etc you can awaken the force in your followers and even affect their affinity between dark or light side. It seems there are plenty more people who have the abilitiy to touch and feel the force if coaxed out, even if they have shown prior no manifestation. Even anakins affinity started out as a manifestation in his piloting ability and with droids and technology. Not always telekinesis or something.

The pacing comment at the end was spot on. It herked and jerked around a lot...they easily could have cut 10 min out of the first episode alone. That entire chasing after Sabine scene could have been cut. Going to miss Ray...his scenes were the best acted, best voiced. Dawson is OK as Ahsoka but the light saber scenes are sloooow...they need speeding up...either more jump cuts or creative editing because the differences in Clone Wars and this are strikingly apparent.

Great review but your conclusions are way off! (iMHO). These 2 episodes are amazing. I’ve watched them 3 times. Ahsoka is the best character in the franchise and Rosario Dawson is doing a fantastic job.

Paul is becoming the old and sad protagonist of the "Episode Breakdown Universe" 😅 Not everybody who watches Star Wars watches the animated stuff so I believe this episode was for them. Even if you didn't watch Rebels, these two episodes will bring you up to speed on the characters and what is happening in the world(s).

"Perfect Casting" Are you joking?? Cameron Monaghan was already an actor in live-action before he was cast as Cal Kestis for the video games. By the time they actually show him in live action it won't be hard to make him look the age he would be by the time of the Mandolorian and Ahsoka.

Imagine a point in the future when Sabine breaks through whatever barrier exists inside her mind and uses the Force in a way that she rises up as a new & powerful being like Galadriel vs Sauron in Hobbit III. That would be a worthy pay-off from this Journey to Jedi aspect of where the story seems to be going.

Its weird to see characters initially so styalised as human actors, but Rosario has me sold as Asohka so judt gotta wait and see!

It would be cool if Marok was Ezra but it isn't since he would be with Thrawn who could teach Ezra how to navigate unknown space through the force (sense chiss children are known as navigators called Skywalkers)

I hope Marreck isn't Ezra, I don't think I'd like that storyline i.e. good guy gets turned bad, then turns good again etc etc. I don't understand why Sabine picked up the lightsaber when she could have grabbed her Mandalorian gear which she knew how to use a lot better against Jedi's.

I don’t think Shin wanted to kill her, as she stabbed her off to the side when she had a clear shot. I also think Shin has doubts about the future, as she gets a concerned look on her face when she asks what will happen when they find the Admiral and is told they will have unthinkable power. I think ultimately Shin will break good and become a true Jedi by the end of the season.

Sabine also survived because Ahsoka was literally RIGHT there to get her immediate medical help. Qui-Gon was stabbed right in the middle of his chest by Darth Maul and the only person who knew was Obi-Wan, who still had a long fight with Maul ahead of him. By the time Obi-Wan could have contacted someone and for that help to arrive... it just feels like that would have realistically taken WAY too long for Qui-Gon to have any hope of survival. Which isn't to mention the fact that Qui-Gon possibly realized this was the moment his death would mean the most to his Padawan, so he accepted his fate a-la Obi-Wan dying in A New Hope for Luke.

I think Shin injured Sabine rather than kill her because if she injures her with Ahsoka so close, Ahsoka has to stop and help her rather than give chase. If she kills her outright, then Ahsoka has no reason to stop, and will just pursue her, with even more reason to kill her. It's an escape tactic, a conscious choice.

It’s painfully obvious that marrok is not Ezra, for one big reason. If Morgan had access to Ezra to “corrupt” him, she would have also had Thrawn already. Ezra and Thrawn are in the same place.

Lucasfilm has already given the official character profile of that inquisitor named Marrok which states that Marrok used to be a inquisitor hunting Jedi for the Empire and now works as a mercenary hired by Morgan Elsbeth. So, Ezra is the inquisitor theory is officially dead.

But it doesn’t make sense. If Marrok was an Inquisitor he would have been sent after Luke since all the inquisitors were dead by a New Hope before this show started

@@TheCommandostudiosnot necessarily, Vader more than likely wanted luke for his own and out a restriction preventing inquisitors from going after him. Which makes sense since Vader was the head of the inquisitorius
@mondeepengti8733

@@carolinahammer9480they wouldn't do that cuz they haven't done that in history. Ezra already has gone through that dark side arc and Dave isn't someone who will repeat the same thing again with his own character. At the end of Rebels, he was emotionally and mentally matured Jedi who can resist any temptation and is very smart who can give Thrawn some unpredictable moves.
