In the old Apprentice books, Obi-Wan has a really low Force ability as a kid. He flunks out of the order at the age of 13, and gets sent to the support corps who grow all the food for the Temple. Qui-Gonn is on a mission in the area, and Obi-Wan ends up getting embroiled in it, is vital to Qui-Gonn beating his ex-apprentice Xanatos who had fallen to the Dark Side, and Qui-Gonn takes Obi-Wan as his Padawan. And despite his low ability Obi-Wan ends up becoming THE Jedi. The ideal. The kind and wise Master who can mediate any negotiation and yet is also considered the greatest user of Form III the Jedi have ever produced. I think Sabine will have a similar arc. I loved seeing live action E-Wings. Wasn't crazy about their design in Legends but these ones look really great. They got rid of that third laser over the cockpit and no longer hide our droid buddies. I even went through the effort of finding a Lego E-Wing all on it's own without pilot, droid, or Shin Hati's fighter. It looks amazing in Lego form too, and I can put Lego Me in the cockpit instead, and my favorite R unit in the back. I always figured these advanced fighters were on an outer rim world because they were built there. I thought since there was already a skilled labor force there, once the Empire fell and the New Republic stepped in, they probably offered to hire on all the imperial press gang laborers for good wages. I mean most of those people lost their farms to strip mining anyway, so the New Republic would have been a sweet deal. I just hope we get to see more of the E-Wings in flight through the other various Star Wars media now. I got a taste and I want *MORE!*

Sabine’s become one of, if not my absolute favorite character of the entire Star Wars saga in the last year since Ahsoka aired, and that is saying something, because I’ve been a hardcore fan of the franchise since the early 90’s. I just love Natasha’s portrayal of her, and I’ve come to appreciate the animated version of her so much more in Rebels as well. She’s a badass Mandalorian, who, despite having the least amount of Force talent Huyang has ever taught, still manages to be one of the most compelling and determined Jedi I’ve ever seen. I sure hope we get more of Sabine in the larger universe, popping up in future movies and shows beyond Ahsoka Season 2.

Okay…I see Sabine seems to get a lot of hate… And I unfortunately contribute to that. Before I start…I loved Rebels from start to finish. I loved Sabine’s growth throughout it. And this…kills me to see. She’s a grown adult. Late twenties, military veteran, mandalorian warrior and… Behaving like a teenager with a chip on her shoulder towards all forms of authority. She ditches on a ceremony meant to celebrate the day Ezra, who she considers family, saved Lothal. The day that Clone a Commando Gregor gave his life. The day that honoured the loss of life of people she saw as family. She does so after having apparently shown up and been there long enough for Azadi to expect her to be ready to step up next to him, and I doubt she could have been forced to go there or agree to any rehearsals against her will. So she essentially derailed the Lothal equivalent of Remembrance Day so she could… Go riding a hover-bike and blasting loud, obnoxious music. I’d say that she acts like a teenager again, but she was more mature as a teenager even when spraying graffiti all over Imperial bases. While I question the legality of sending E-Wings to force her to come back, she then decides to pull a reckless stunt that endangers herself and a pilot. Then later on when Ahsoka explicitly states that she wants the Star Map to remain on her ship…guess who barely waits for her to leave the room before taking it off the ship instead of going to get her tools from her tower and bringing them to said ship? There’s being a rebel…and there is being physically incapable of doing anything unless it involves giving the bird to some form of authority figure, even that of a friend setting a very reasonable boundary. If you like Sabine this way…that’s your opinion and you’re entitled to it. But I find it hard to like a grown adult who goes out of her way to convince everyone she’s having a midlife crisis by being ‘a rebel without a cause’.
@christianedward8469 Жыл бұрын
I don’t disagree with what you’re saying but I think they did this just to push the plot. Also, I think they wanted to show how she’s changed since what happened to her parents and Ezra. That part I do understand but how they did it was - jarring.
@evanforst7272 Жыл бұрын
I agree with the taking of the starmap part, that was dumb. But I read the ditching of the ceremony differently. The full scene shows that she is mourning Ezra pretty hard, and so i think she is fed up with the governors celebration of their sacrifice with cheering and clapping and such, rather than having a more mournful tone. Yeah she is a war hero, but i dont know if many that relish it that much. It feels like governor Azadi is using her to boost his image with the public, otherwise why not have her do the speech from the start? And don't have everyone stand in front of the mural of the people they are paying respects to. Its akin to celebrating on remembrance day while all the officials are in front of the memorial for the cameras. I doubt she went there against her will, she chose her time to leave because her disappearance is making him look bad as well, and enforces why he cares so much to send two starfighters to force her back. This is why she is so sarcastic to the pilot as well. She knows damn well what day it is. Sums it up when porter says "thought you'd wanna be there... its a big day for you, hero." and she says "yup, well, you thought wrong" Its why he doesn't protest after her stunt. He understands how it feels being a part of the government and doing things you might not want to do to make some guy look better. Also, nothing clears your head like going fast on a bike and doing some risky shit.
@AntonNight Жыл бұрын
@@evanforst7272 If she didn’t wish to be there for the ceremony, all she would have had to do was say no and never show up at all. Yes, politicians will always use big events like that for ratings, but Azadi wouldn’t need it. He’s a war hero himself, and he always had a grizzled Uncle vibe with Ezra. He’s probably already coasting on being governor for life or until retirement- at his age he probably already had the chance for the latter but stayed on out of duty to his world. He was established as the kind of politician cut from the same cloth as Bail Organa, Mon Mothma, Padme Amidala, Riyo Chuchi, Mina Bonteri, etc back in Rebels in his refusal to cooperate with an unjust Empire. An alternative interpretation of him sending those E Wings is because the ceremony is his way of honouring Ezra, Gregor, Kanan and everyone else on Lothal who died to free it from the Empire. Thus it means that much to him, and Sabine letting him build the ceremony around her appearance only to back out without a word or warning turned it into a spectacle. Sabine had better ways of coping without publicly humiliating an old ally and friend. Coping with loss doesn’t excuse us from how we treat others in any case. And nit everybody deals with it the same way. Hera and Zeb invested time in their work to help make sure his work wouldn’t be undone, Azadi helped make Lothal a thriving community which knows that Ezra is to thank for it being saved, Sabine…became a hermit who acts like she’s half her age.

I'm very happy with Sabine being trained. Since last year, I've come to believe that the Jedi and the Republic need to end -- both are weak, feckless, indecisive and corrupt. In swtor, my time with Shae Vizla and and seeing those who support her has forced me to research them and their beliefs. From my research, I've come to believe that the Mandalorians would make better leaders and guardians. Their values would create a stronger , more just, more honorable, more united and a more secure galaxy. Sabine is an empathetic Mandalorian -- a very powerful combination. Sabine's empathy will give her a raw connection to the Force that most don't have. Sabine's Mandalorian culture will push her to continue to grow and shatter her limits -- Sabine could very well become the most powerful Force users in history. Sabine can succeed where Revan, Dooku and Anakin failed.

Natasha Liu Bordizzo sucks in Sabine Wren role. She probably sucks in general (as an acctress), but i dont want to misjudge her.
