Dave did write the entire thing, so all the story elements are entirely his. Remember that George wrote the OT, but didn’t actually direct 5 and 6, despite still having major influence in their production. That’s what it’s like for Dave. And he is directing another episode this series (I think 5).
@anthonyyoutubefan7567 Жыл бұрын
Wouldn't be surprised, if that episode/Part Five features flashbacks to TCW, and involves Luke and Leia Skywalker, and, hopefully, the Force ghost of Anakin. Unless, this episode is where Ahsoka and Sabine arrive at The New Beyond.

yeah, Rebels was Dave's show but every single episode I believe was directed by maybe 8 different directors while Dave was supervising director for all but season 3. Dave actually directed just one episode, Twin Suns
@LegitScott Жыл бұрын
I wouldn't worry too much about different directors, the script being Dave's is the most important thing because there is no room for anyone else to mess with the lore. And I'm pretty sure he had an eye on production too, this series definitely has his name written all over it. Ahsoka is his baby.

I think Morgan was holding back when Ahsoka beat her, not wanting to reveal her nightsister magic. I think they are really going to lean in to the nightsisters being super powerful, especially with what they have done with Merrin in the games. Sabine clearly had a brush with death. Had Shin Hati been more accurate with her lightsaber, a direct impaling into Sabine’s chest and through her spine, her fate would have been the same as Qui-Gon’s. Filoni has indeed written the entire series, and he’s also directed Episode 5 (Rosario’s favorite episode). But he’s chosen an impressive group of directors, including Rick Famuyiwa, who’s directing the finale. I’ve read that Disney is withholding the decision on whether to move forward on Season 2 until they see the viewership this season gets. And isn’t it amazing to see what Lucasfilm can do with a TV series, when they have a proper budget?! Ahsoka clearly was given a big budget in line with the one given to ANDOR, as opposed to the outrageously skimpy budget given to Obi-Wan Kenobi…

"Poor Qhi Gon" I find it so funny how people simply cannot comprehend the thought process of these writers. Firstly, Qui Gon was stabbed right under the solar plexus while Sabine is stabbed on her side, presumably under her liver. The writers are very obviously telling us 'hey, Qui Gon was stabbed in a major organ, that's fatal but Sabine is stabbed away from major organs so survived'. Not to mention Ahsoka was seconds away from her and able to get her to medical assistance straight away. It's a pretty simple concept....

Dave Filoni might have not directed every episode, but keep in mind, his main job in everything he's worked in was never to be a director. Either way he still created the show and wrote all the episodes, so I think we're fine here😅

Dave wrote the whole thing. I don’t mind him staying out of the director’s chair for a few episodes, it’s the story that matters most. So far it’s been pretty great I hope it keeps the quality up

So far I love it for what it is - the sets, scenery, and camera work is beautiful. The story is easy to follow yet complicated enough to keep it interesting. It feels realistic, no overblown egos or forced drama to progress the storyline. Conversations are meaningful and have heart. The bad guys are excellent, the good guys are excellent. The acting is solid, the music is fantastic. Ahsoka looks so good, Sabine looks great, love Huyang, Baylen and his side kick - great! Hera's motherly approach, Chops comic releif, Mystery of Morrok is intriguing, The Nightsister is perfect...the ships, the city, the com tower and its cat, the droids....I could go on and on. I went in just hoping for some minor entertainment and it has 100% sucked me in and I am so hopeful for the next episodes. If I HAD to critique something - when Sabine was introduced in ep1 the music that was being played was so obnoxious it was distracting and ruined the dialogue.

I'm going to make this comment here. How many people in the whole of Star Wars died from a stab? Only Quigon. (I hope it spelled his name right) And that was so because Maul wanted to kill him. All the other times ppl were killed they were slashed. Darth Vader never delivered a kill stroke to Reva. The point I am making is that when a person wants to kill you they will kill you with a sabre. The times ppl survived, death was not the end move. I love this show by the way.

Great video as always Skyman! I’d definitely watch a Rebels reaction series, even if it was only key episodes (4:16). My only (small) gripe with the episodes was that I wish Sabine wasn’t stabbed; but maybe Ahsoka could have showed up a little earlier and forced Shin to leave. It also would have been cool to see a Jedi temple on Lothal, but it’s only episode 2; and I’m not sure if the one in Rebels was the only one on the planet or not.

I wonder if that whole other galaxy is a galaxy that is far, far, away. I hope this doesn't happen but with the show creators teasing the idea of time travel (across space and time) they could conceivably make the SW universe intersect with our Earth. It would be a terrible idea imo but right from the beginning of the franchise it was established that all of this really happened, it just took place a long time ago in a... now if they make it possible for the characters to travel forward in time across galaxies...

I think the end of E1 spoiled my enjoyment start of E2, sabre stab means nothing now. This show is all about feeding into Daves Movie, it will be the culmination of forces joining up. Remember in Disney - Snoke is about, palpatine is about, First Order is in power, luke is drinking blue milk, spoiled child Ben solo has started killing again, and the knights of ren, are standing looking menacing but not doing much. So they will have to either nodd to E7 status, or blank it out with a new galaxy far far away, could we be heading to a new galaxy with new stories skipping the shoddy sequels? What ever happens take mando and grogu with you at the end, his group are the best thing in starwars, and for the love of negotiations, get Gina to come back, if nothing else, for the fans of strong female leads that handle themselves.
@k--music Жыл бұрын
I’m not so cynical abt it considering it is feeding into Dave’s movie about Thrawn as opposed to the sequels directly, and the new galaxy thing opens the door to totally new stories. Sure there will be references but it’s not directly connected in any way you can’t ignore. And Sabine was pretty clearly stabbed in the side without hitting vital organs, even a real life stab would kill you if it went through your heart and spine and not if it hit where Sabine was and you had immediate medical care

My only gripe with how Qui-Gon died is that they showcased earlier in the same movie that they can run very fast. Obi-Wan could've run through those ray shields in one go, dispatch Maul and save his master but stuff needed to happen so his ability was on cooldown I guess. This always bothered me, that fast run added nothing to the scene they could've just defeat the droinds nothing would've changed. But as he said Qui-Gon got stabbed through his spine it seemed and there was no immediate help available so I guess he died. Reva got stabbed twice but she was so badass she didnt needed help through sheer female power she survived both times and even got to Tatooine before Obi-Wan did. Such talent.
@HellionSol Жыл бұрын
For the force speed thing, when he used it at the beginning of the movie, I would say he was fully rested with all his force energy at full reserve so it was no issue to speed away. Later in the film, he is a bit more tired due to Maul battering him down. Obi did take a nasty fall before using the force to leap incredibly high to even reach the platform. The force aids movements, but it does have limits- especially for a Padawan [arguably Obi is at Jedi Knight level in episode 1 though]
@undie3x7 Жыл бұрын
What is with people bringing up Reva. I guess Maul survived getting cut in half through sheer male power? 🙄 No, Reva surviving is not comparable to Qui Gon dying, but Maul's survival. They survived through their hatred. Get a fucking brain and grow up. This BS is irritating as hell already.
