Honestly I think to this generation of Star Wars fans Ahsoka is just as iconic as other key figures as Luke and Leia, from Clone Wars to Rebels and finally Mandalorian we’ve seen her grow up right along side us, she’s as much a part of Star Wars as Darth Vader himself and to me she will always represent what Star Wars and a Jedi are supposed to be
@thestarchivist3 жыл бұрын
Perfectly stated. I was only 11 years old when first introduced to her in theaters for The Clone Wars movie. She wasn’t much older than myself. Now, nearly 13 years later, I’m 23 years old & have witnessed her grow up - go through the same journey we as kids did. She’s essentially our Luke Skywalker, so I very much agree with you...she’s up there amongst the greats.

@@thestarchivist it’s such a satisfying feeling finally getting her in live action especially in one of the best pieces of Star Wars media to date since we saw her go from sort of annoying (even though I personally never saw it) to a fan favorite, and it just shows how much Filoni and Favreau care about their characters and how great Rosario Dawson was at portraying her since I get the same feeling watching her now that I did watching the Clone Wars when I was in 4th grade. Ahsoka represents what the Jedi should have evolved into. The passion for discovery that Qui-Gon had, the strive for peace and balance that Obi-Wan had, and the spirit, life, and love that Anakin had. It's so easy to miss when watching because it has a different tone every time. They shape it to fit each scene, which makes it fade in the background instead of being in your face about it. Moments like her Mandalorian farewell are quite rare where it bursts out into full volume and is impossible to miss.
@thestarchivist3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, there's a certain beauty to her theme in being delicate like it is in both Clone Wars and Rebels. It's subtlety reminds me a lot of Leia's theme and Luke's theme, which tells us a lot. All 3 of those characters have one thing in common: they are, in one way or another, shaped by Anakin Skywalker. Knowing their themes are so delicate, beautiful and hopeful, while Vader's is intense, militant, and foreboding, really showcases that contrast. It was definitely a change in Mandalorian to hear her theme so prominently -- there is certainly a message in that, but I'm still trying to figure it out. My theory so far? Is that we hear it loudly because Ahsoka is officially on her own journey now, her own character. There's no other Jedi shaping her path, other than herself. Which is why getting her own show is very fitting, too.

Most memorable moment when you hear this theme is the Final episode of Clone Wars. Hearthbreaking.

This theme has a perfect blend of hope and also sadness. Some times it roars in glory like when she gets her new sabers and the end of the mandalorian but then when shes burying the clones and leaves the jedi order it's just sadness which perfectly sums her character up. She rarely gets moments of happiness. Raised in a war, her troopers then turning on her. Burying her soldiers, blaming herself for anakins death, finding out anakin is in fact Vader. That's why it's so good to see her happy at the end of her episode in the mandalorian

Agreed. Many say that Anakin/Darth Vader is the most tragic character in Star Wars. But I’m with you, & would argue in defense of Ahsoka being the most tragic. She’s the one who lost Anakin, had to live on after the death of the Order in isolation, no idea of Obi-Wan or Yoda’s survival, & later even having to confront the fact that the most vilified Sith in the Empire is her former master - now long manipulated/brainwashed.

@@thestarchivist Well Star Wars was always about tragedy. So she is in the high ranks of the tragic story. But she is nowhere near Vader's level. To me, Obi Wan represented to resilience of the Jedi, Kanan represented the path to redemption (of finding one's way), and Ahsoka represented the balance of the Jedi. Of course there are others, Luke, Qui Gon, Yoda, etc. But watching these three took the stage in their subtleties, in their growth and challenges, and it was a journey to witness.

Obi-Wan represents the ideal Jedi imo. He accepts his flaws and doesn't resort to arrogance. Many other Jedi resorted to arrogance instead of embracing their flaws. Yoda realized this once he fought Dark Yoda in S6. I think Qui-Gon represents the balance of the Jedi, but Ahsoka represents the balance of light-side and dark-side users of any type.

Ashoka is widely regarded as an ENFP personality type. This pattern of late blooming and seeming like an apparent idiot early in life (due to a subconscious overreliance on extraverted intuition) is very common for these people. And, yes, Luke Skywalker has an incredibly similar personality dynamic, and is widely regarded as an INFP personality type (as George Lucas himself is). The entire franchise is extremely xNFP (extroverted intuition, introverted feeling) driven -- the "force" itself seems to be a stand-in for the ancient Chinese philosophy of the Tao: "The [Tao] is my ally, and a powerful ally it is."

For me my personal favourite is „Ahsoka Leaving“, but since Mando I am in a miced position now. „Ahsoka Lives“ is so well arranged. Heard it a lot, last time in my car a few hours ago, which has an 8-speaker option with subwoofer in the exchange tyre space (don‘t know if it is the correct name for the spare tyre in English 😅). And with that setup this song blows my mind even more. Everytime I‘m mostly in tears hearing her theme, which - until now - only „Anakins Betrayal“ could do. A bombastic theme with so deep meanings, feelings and expressions. Such a fantastic and underrated theme, in my opinion together with Lukes theme and all the other important ones one of the most iconic. Like Ahsoka in person, but thank God that seems to change finally. Ahsoka is by now one of the best characters and the most important female characters in this franchise of this era. 🙂 Very nice video 😃

I’d love that too, cause I’m partially hearing impaired, so listening to music in that type of environment is like healing for me. Thank you again for watching & sharing your love for her music with us. It’s much appreciated! 🙌 May the Force be with you.

@@thestarchivist It lives with the subwoofer. As soon as you can hear it with a decent bass, it doesn‘t matter if you are sitting in a car or if you hear it with headphones. Also the drums in „Ahsoka Leaving“ are better and deeper as soon as you play the song with more bass (but not overloaded with bass like all the Tuner guys 😃). I just love the Mando version as it builds up with every second to ‚explode’ within the last 30 seconds. You can feel all her sadness, all her loss and sorrows. Funny how one year can change someone. Thanks to Disney+, which started here in Germany in March or so, I gave TCW a try (knew the movie, but didn‘t knew any more content). And since that moment I love her as a perfect girl within such a Sci-Fi setting. Didn‘t have any (fictional) characters in my life which I loved more. Bought a sticker of her Fulcrum logo for my car, every background has her motive as picture (smartphone, PC, PS4, iPad 😂). I even began to write fanfictions because of her (nerdy me 😂). You‘re right, she is an absolute inspiration for everyone to chase their goals. Even if you fall, you have to stand up just one more time. One thing which is very important in times like these... I am so excited for her own series (let‘s see who is the man or woman in charge for the music there) and if she will get some screentime in the Obi-Wan series. 😃

Like truly a journey from a padawan to master, even if she is “not a Jedi”. Edit to add: i know different instruments can create different atmospheres and that’s also what has changed, but the chords and some of the pattern has too. Even in alternate genre covers, there are certain ways songs are written for various genres of movies/shows. So it just feels like the theme has gone through a heroes journey in some ways. From bright and childish to the most recent feeling ethereal, almost like she is a figure of myth and legend, despite being right there on screen.

I've rewatched every scene with her in it across every star wars media at least twice now, and it never occurred to me that she had a theme.

Star Wars’ message of “Every Generation has a story…” always seems to focus on each trilogy, while in reality I think so many of us grew up to the animated shows, so deserving of a category of their own. I was born ‘03 so I was two when RoTS was released and definitely cannot remember any of it, yet the prequel era is the closest to my heart … Without Clone Wars, and all of the amazing characters I don’t think I would have become the Star Wars fan I am now ❤️

It's so strange that such a disliked character was changed so quickly by Dave Filoni to one of the most beloved ones

I knew her theme and recognized it in all of these scenes beforehand, except the scene where Vader finds her lightsaber. It’s so subtle that I didn’t catch it before, fitting considering that scene is a metaphor for how the Clone Wars are over and the past is now blurred.

The one that hits most for me is the rebels themes. Her facing vader. With the sound boosted in the WBW scene, you can hear all the different voices in the background too wow.

wait you forget a couple more times this theme played.....in rebels plays several more times, when Ashoka fight the Inquisitors, also when she STARTS fighting Vader those 2 have a beautiful rendition of her theme....also I think in Kanan death was her theme playing.....and also when she appeared in the Mandalorian for the first time her theme play when she warn the Magistrate in the doors. Probably a couple others time I can't recall as well.

The rebellion era had several notable Jedi Knights rise to prominence as symbols of peace, Luke, Kanan, Ezra, Cal, the list goes on. But I think Ahsoka Tano most accurately represents what a Jedi Master was supposed to be like, a pure of heart warrior of the light that preserves the balance in the force not only within herself but also those around her, in both Rebels and Mandalorian/Boba Fett, she is seen as a wise mentor figure; a rare guardian of the knowledge of old, one of the few people who survived order sixty six who were far enough in their training to be able to cohesively pass on the knowledge as it was passed to her, rather than some wannabe masters who had to kinda, make it up as they went. Ironically this immense wisdom has made the once-padawan into a Yoda-esque figure, with wisdom from a forgotten time... She is old enough to remember when the Jedi were peacekeepers, but young enough to keep up with the Padawans and protect people from harm, you know, the job of a peacekeeper.(let's be honest, most of the actual masters who survived the purge were either too old or had corrupted their minds to the point of being way too dangerous to train a new generation of Jedi)

I'm right with you there. That '08 movie is a gem, regardless of what others think. So cool to see where she started and compare it to where her character is at now.
