I'm wondering how much it costs to retrieve these and why was it 5 years before this one was? Is there not much profit to be made doing this or do the owners of the anchors wait that long to have it done, and if so why? I'm assuming the companies that lose the anchors log the exact location. Is this wrong?

Hi Johny! Those lost anchors were recovered during COVID idling time. Oil rigs were shut down and client decided to utilize vessel for that purpose. Before those anchors were used for mooring at sea, to minimize air pollution and fuel economy. Weak links snapped someday, chain fell down to sea bottom, buoy floated away. Precise location of lost anchors were known. I even had something like ultrasound picture that came in handy while dragging grapnel trough sea bottom in between pipelines and cables. Hard to say price for single anchor recovery. Average price to hire such vessel roughly 8,000usd/day.
