Actually, coming in 2025, CrAIme is the latest in automated criminal activity technology, no need to become a criminal, when it can be done automatically in basically just 3 clicks! Select the category of crime, the location, and the date and time in which it should all take place, and just like that, you're done! Important: you are entirely liable for everything that happens, CrAIme does not take any responsibility

The creation of the photograph created more jobs than it replaced because only a very small fraction of the population could afford a custom painting. So the creation of AI generated art is gonna create more jobs than it'll replace digital artists, right? That's why tech companies are creating these AI tools, to hire MORE people, right? I'm sure the quality of the art is also gonna go up too :)
@patborjon67783 сағат бұрын
The quality of art is already going up in some cases. I've seen some incredibly beautiful AI artwork. It is a tool unlike any previous tools.
@GlitchDude2 сағат бұрын
The "AI is bad quality" talking point really can't continue being used as a counter, with the amount of progress in literally every category of generative AI, and no sign of slowing down I'm not "pro AI replacing creative human jobs" I'm just stating what is happening in this field of technology, you can't just close your eyes and lie to yourself If you're concerned about job positions, focus on that, don't bring the generative AI quality into the discussion as an insult, cause it will just be used against you

5:00 In my opinion you cant apply the camera example to Generative AI. Yes It was new tech that replaced a lot of artists, but it was invented seperatly from those artists. AI however can only excist because it was fed with all the images artists made over the years and companies are profiting from all those without the artists getting anything. The inventor of the camera didnt need any artists. For this reason I think generative ai that was trained on images that the company didnt make themselfs should not be used and is unethical. Of course there Is a lot of stuff out that is unethical but just because one thing is it is okay for something else to be unethical. Another thing is also just way? Why would I want I shitty ai generated model If I could get someone to make me a 3d model thats 10x better. Also, for me atleast, when I look at an art piece, a lot of the time im not only impressed by how the final result looks but also that some one was able to make it. You could have an AI and a real Artist make the exact same picture an I would like the real one more because someone had the skill to make it. Lets take Ghibli as an example. The movies are amazing. And for me a big reason why they are so amazing is because people actually drew all of it. I would love to hear your opinion on it.
@GifCoDigital10 сағат бұрын
How a technology is created is irrelevant, its impact is all that matters. For your second point... "why would I want some shitty small blurry plate with a badly lit image on it when I can pay an artist to paint a 10X better one!!!" A few decades later even the shittiest camera can outdo the best artist for realism.
@ameyagupta728510 сағат бұрын
for sure, another big thing is how like using a camera still required Artistry. it promoted creation of some sort, just in another medium. human innovation is unrelenting and it won't stop, but the sharp line of ethicality in this particular case comes when human creation is thrown out the window (and essentially degraded with how prolific these tools are becoming) and we just use a probabilistic "this is close enough to what i want" generator to approximate creativity. being left behind is scary but it's also arguably equally (or more) terrifying to really analyze what "being ahead" means and the consequences of everyone "being ahead".
@volf7f810 сағат бұрын
I do agree with all of this, personally the "You are scared that a man with a button outdid you" part is the only thing kinda rubbed the wrong way, I don't think among a lot of concept artist there is such fear ,a lot of incredible concept artist are the first to mention the importance of relying on photoscans or getting assets from other artists. Not at any point any of my friends were worried about the quality of such technologies or that they might be replacing us, however the carbon footprint, the obvious problem with copyrights and overall exploitative nature of their parent companies are the main concern. It seems like such a fancy toy some times, so many free assets already available so many versions of free pinecones on sketchfab (even if in the video he uses it as an example). I am aware, for more specific use cases such as the cabin might be useful but then again so many faster "Ian Hubert" approaches to make a simple cabin asset like that done. If you read this Mr.CGMatter obviously no hate uwu, just a disagreement with the use and utility of this technology Love your channel since the good ol first tracking tuts.

@@GifCoDigital Ok well the Impact is pretty bad on the creative industry in my opinion so that does not make it any better. 2. You have a point here. 3D animation also used to look pretty bad. But AI can only get better If we feed it with more stuff and that is the problem in my opinion. It needs artists to become better at replacing them. Yes it will probably look really good at some point, but at what cost?
@GifCoDigital10 сағат бұрын
@FranzGu the impact on artists from the camera was "pretty bad" as well. Thats my point.

@@JacobZigenisI never understand how you guys think the most natural and ethical way to approach everything is that most greedy and selfish method that makes things complex and overly complicated and they're actively gatekeeping something that has zero quality control and they're trying to monetize it. I propose you make some cool open source system and ask for donations, or you create an AI system that has some kind of consistent output or unlimited regens for free and an ethical system that isn't based on monetizing stolen art but I can't that isn't possible because you need to maximize profits at all times and the user experience must be terrible at all times You don't need to jump onto every trend just to make a bad product that will be bought up by adobe with some goofy subscription system and 100 different tiers and tokens and coins and credits and rupees just to access basic features that they will remove for no reason
@JacobZigenis4 сағат бұрын
@dffgffffffdddddddddd Brother, what? Holy assumptions lmao. I just asked for the OP's thoughts on it. Compute isn't free, someone is paying the bills for server costs. I was asking for how the OP proposed monetization should occur to support such a service if not by credits. Credits mean you pay for what you use, which seems rather reasonable to me. The thing about a free market is that you don't have to use the service if you don't want to pay for it. Take a step back and breathe dude. I'm so baffled by how quickly you assumed everything about my beliefs instead of having a rational conversation. What a strange way to interact.

Thank God the 3D industry has already been using base meshes and kitbashing since time immemorial. It'll take some time for these meshes to be good enough to justify not using slightly edited basemeshes. If the mesh is specific enough to warrant an original model, it probably would be used in a close shot (otherwise a generic edited base mesh could be used) which would then require an actual "handmade" model, as these AI models suck ass the moment you get too close.

Every time the "It's unethical to use references without consent", comes up, I think of the times through the years zI referenced poses and picked colors, or I borrowed a chord progression and smashed my favorite melodies together until I find something new that I like, and I'm like. "Yes, I see the existential threat for commercial artists. But this is... Kinda how it's always been? Now it's just easier?" I'm sure there are creative that never intentionally used references and instead only worked from ambient memories of what they've been exposed too and some happy accidents while working their tools. But that's definitely not most, and it kinda reinforces the fact that most creative protections (IP law) is a farce for the sole benefit of the moneyed, however we'll intentioned the laws may have started. I just kinda don't think people who trained these models should be allowed to "own" the if we're gonna keep calling them intelligent systems, or we're gonna fast end up dealing with neo-slavery. And I'm not even remotely joking.
