Mine crash, takes way too long to generate and crash or error. I dont know where i did wrong. reducing steps and stuff, no effects whatsoever..

There might be many reasons why this is happening. First, it may be because Queue time is very long, as it uses stable horde as its backend, which is a crowdsourced distributed cluster where people provide their own hardware so the stable diffusion can run, and this plugin uses it as its backend, so there may be many people using it, so it might have added you to the queue, or it may be that enough hardware was not active at the time.

It HAS to be a 512x512? I wanted to use it to inpaint on a wider image but it refuses to work. The GitHub page says this is discintinued now and the isntructions don't even work for huggingface when I want to try using it with that instead of local. I had it working before but now it also throws an error about invalid URL on the local plugin. CONFUSED.

Sorry that you had a problem with this. The plugin uses Stable Horde as the backend, but it seems that it's not working recently. I will recommend some other plugins that can achieve the same result. There are two alternatives: github.com/ArtBIT/stable-gimpfusion and github.com/thndrbrrr/gimp-stable-boy. One thing you need to be aware of is that these two plugins use Automatic1111 as their backend. To use them, you must have Automatic1111 web UI installed and have a GPU. If you don't have a PC with a GPU, you can use Google Colab for that purpose.

@@pixcores Yes but does someone have an instruction video for the noobs because I have never had any success with GitHub cloning and I find it to be convoluted. It is a huge deterrant for me. So I tend to avoid stuff that doesn't have a step by step instructional that is clear, has a voiceover, and is not just rushed through. Are there any videos for either of them and which one works better? Are they any better or worse than using the pligin built into GMIC? I had to resort to that but I think that is based on SD 1.4 so the results were not all that great. However it was already installed and I didn't have to go through hoops to get it working (why people can't write plugins that work out of the box like that or shop iit out to GMIC is beyond me. I ended up having to use a blur paintbrush and then ran that image through a few more AI apps to get variations so I could cut and paste elements from them to achieve the desired Mat Painting I wanted. I know inpainging with the right model would have eliminated all those steps.It's frustrating for an artist to then have to become a programmer just to get anything done these days.

@@pixcores I also have this nagging issue. No matter how many times I put the stable-gimpfusion plugin into the plugin folders, it refuses to show in the AI menu. Stable local is the only one that will show and it refuses to work at all. So I am stumped at this point and cannot continue trying to install the plugin. What could be the reason for that? Some plugins refuse to work in the default user/appdata directory so you have to put them into the program file/gimp directory and vice versa. I am at a loss here. I can't continue if it won't even show in the menu. And yes that is with an image loaded. Am I missing a step you don't mention? Do I need to reinstall GIMP? Do I need to reinstall python? I have no idea what to do.

@@pixcores OK I finally got the stable-gimpfusion plugin to load after reinstalling gimp over the existing installation but the menu looks nothing like your instructions. Gimpfusion has it's own menu, it's not in AI and to get to the window you instruct to open in the plugin (settings) I have to click on "Global". Now I am trying to install python 3.10.6 but I don't know if I am supposed to upgrade or install to a different path and keep my python 2.7 installed. If I upgrade, will that destroy other programs/plugins that rely on python 2.7? This is a problem I usually encounter in Linux and I don't want to deal with the same headache in windows 10.

Be more precise, please, and there is nothing I can do if the plugin has any issues in its backend, as it uses stable horde as its backend, which basically means it runs on many people's hardware. If you want to let the developer know about an issue with the plugin, then go to GitHub and let them know by creating a new issue there.
