WOW! This workflow is wild! I can't believe how accessible this is in 2024... so stoked. Thanks for sharing these steps and links to these utilities.

Triposr is available in the comfyui node manager if you want the output to automatically feed into the next step. Same with background remover, but I forget the name of the comfyui node that does that.

Great stuff. I had thought about using the img-2-3D stuff before to create sprite sheets out of, but I was thinking more in the route of using the 3D animation to create keyframes to then use them as a base for low denoised img2img pass. Using a pixel art style is a genius way to make it look polished instead!
@tobiasfischer18794 ай бұрын
This was my plan originally, but the current freely available img2model does not have the best texture quality (as you can see in the video). I looked into creating a Stable Diffusion "raycast" re-texure engine but ran into issues getting it to look good in the output. Went back to some of my more classic techniques before trying out the pixel art lora and then it hit me that I could use it for that. Instantly got superb results, which was such a relief after spending hundreds of hours chasing various workflows that produced mediocre results in a best-case scenario.

after following everything up until this point 22:31 and i realise this takes even more steps and more work then just making a simple character and giving anims and extracting frames from render or just drawing the frames directly within the time of me watching this my friend drew 3 frames using his pc lol and his were exceptionally better.

Is there a way to get consistency in generating pixel art in comfy using the pose tool ? What you have shown is a nice alternative however the 3D conversion may not always turn out as expected. Cheers, b

Does it work with isometric pixel art?
@tobiasfischer1879Ай бұрын
@@jeremyXsleep it does, I ran some experiments with rendering 8-directional animations and got pretty good results, it's just a lot more images and potential work cleaning the results, the side view is definitely the best case scenario for this approach but other views work too

As much as I'd love to use this to save time and money, it ends up doing neither. Using it consumes unnecessary electricity and doesn't offer any real benefits. AI tools today are trying to be everything, but they're just overhyped LLMs with machine vision capabilities pretending to be productive assistants. They waste time and resources, and this entire channel is just promoting pointless hype.

There are tools already existing to make pre rendered graphics pixelated or non pixelated. Only thing is to get the animation and export the 3D model. Example tool pixel over. Pixelated plugin in unity ,3d to pixel in unreal etc to name a few. You know use right tools for the right job. Work smart not too hard xD

Epic, followed you all the way through, but took a turn on trying something else out, just didn't want to pixelate things. Perfect dude!!

When you export the rendered frames from blender you can already set the background to be transparent. You don't have to set it to a light color and then have to erase the remaining bits in Photoshop
@tobiasfischer18793 ай бұрын
Unfortunately this does not work with stable diffusion, since it does not accept transparent background. Although I have been considering trying without SD at the end and trying to pixilate the blender output directly, in which case this is extremely useful information, thanks!
