In this video I will be exploring AI rendering for architects with EvolveLab Veras and Autodesk Revit. AI image creation is no longer a gimmick where you can make goofy photos or NFTs, it is now a new and incredibly useful tool in your design process. We all have books of inspirational works, idea boards, and our favorite projects or architects bookmarked. Imagine being able to iterate through your idea boards DIRECTLY in your Revit models…

I also think when you make the prompt input more descriptive and short it works vetter. Your inputting complete lines, think of it as doing a google search. The prompts are attributes or keywords. The shorter the description the more precise it gets its input

Really excellent, helpful. The renderings, around 6:20, where you say "like this and like this" are very cool. Toy robot very interesting. Excellent point made about guiding AI; like with people, you can't just say people, you have to put people in, but then they did make them children. This is getting exciting. I was wondering about stuff like that, was wondering if you could just say the HDRI scene you want in the background, but maybe not. Pretty special to get words from Ben Guler and Bill Allen themselves.

Wonder why when you changed the prompts to horizontal but with the green environment, the outcome still showed vertical sideings. Yet when you removed the greeny, it did show correct siding. Pretty Amazingg tool for concepting. One thing i did NOT de, is when you you have made some renders and switch your prompts, it would be nice if it saves the prompts per image. Because now if you want to itterste on an older image, you can not since that prompt input was not saved

Pretty cool. Some ambiguity between description and guiding geometry. And it will be quite cool when it works in geometry, instead of just imagery. And it's probably not a big leap since its internal mental model probably has a sense of the geometry already. Although backsides could be a little tricky I guess.

importantly, does it give u the iteration on the 3D ITSELF? For example, like if they enlarge the window on the render, does ur 3d model gets its window enlarged too? Or is it just purely the final render that gets the iteration and the 3d model itself doesnt get updated?

This is replacing rendering work, but it's not there quite yet. Eventually importing a 3D model from Revit, SketchUp, etc, we will have the ability to GUIDE the AI to do exactly what we want. That is where this is going. Eventually you will be able to edit specific groups and material sets immediately. This is huge. Now if only I can get AI to help create the 3D models

@@TheRevitKid the “creativity” and “style” sliders don’t address the fact that it will fundamentally change your model, especially when dealing with a larger, more complicated building. Personally, I think adding sliders for the landscape, while maintaining the building would be far more helpful. I’ve used the blend tool within midjourney to good effect, but I really struggled to get this ai tool to achieve a good outcome. Smaller revit models may have more success.

Nice & Thank you for Good Intro for Veras. However, Do you agree with me, VERAS Ai is more suitable for design at the proposal level. Because, if it has reached the level of As-Built, it involves the accuracy of all aspects to be realized. At As-Built, the designer MUST build it accurately in 2D, & 3D.
@TheRevitKid
@TheRevitKid Жыл бұрын
Well, yes, considering it is just making collaged images of ideas... you can't build from any of these images and you still have to design a building in Revit afterwards...I agree. lol

Site plans I’ve had some results with… not sure floor plans would work but I have not tried … the constraints and rules that exist for floor plans might far exceed the collage style AI of this tool… I could be wrong, though.?

I'm not in favor of it to design, or to "generate ideas;" I see it as a really fast (and realistic) renderer. I actually haven't used it yet - waiting for the SketchUp version.

How did you get the topo lines to show on your topography?
@TheRevitKid

They are on by default in Revit… but you can check by going visibility and graphics (“VG” on your keyboard) for that view and making sure contours are turned on under the topography category.

You can also adjust the interval of contours if you want a shallow slope to have more frequently spaced lines (say every 250mm instead of 500mm or 1000mm)

I'll stick with twinmotion of similar. This AI is not replicating what you designed for the client. you could spend all day trying to get it to reproduce what you designed when you could just import it into a rendering engine and spend an hour and have a real time 3d rendering.
@TheRevitKid

I agree... As I said in the video... this is a TOOL to iterate and design. It is NOT yet a rendering engine in which I would make renderings for clients, per se. But, I COULD! ;)

I noticed it changed the model as well, but I don't think you're realizing that this add-on is super helpful moreso for the conceptual and schematic phases of the design process rather than a final rendering. I know the majority of my clients would be absolutely geeked to get some imagery like this even though we've just worked through a plan they like, and our team is only just beginning to elevate it.
