Those murders had nothing to do with Terry Melcher not giving Charlie a recording contract. Charlie was irate about that, sure, but that wasn’t a motive. Charlie went to the Cielo Dr house in March 1969 because he wanted to talk to Melcher. Sharon’s photographer told Charlie that Melcher didn’t live there anymore. Charlie found out that Melcher was living in his mother’s beach house. Charlie or someone from The Family left a note on Melcher’s front porch. If Charlie had wanted Melcher dead he would’ve sent some of his followers to the beach house to kill Melcher. That didn’t happen. Besides we aren’t sure that Charlie picked the house Tex and/or Linda Kasabian may have picked it.
