Very impressive! I do feel that copilot in Power BI can essentially do the same. As a data analyst I find that creating the dashboards don’t take up loads of time. Most of my time is spent on measures, calculations, security settings and mostly cleaning/transforming data. In this example the data was very simple and accurate but it’s certainly a good tool

The terms slightly changed in Claude. Anyway, I followed this and got errors throughout, and as I do not have a pro version of Claude, it stopped working. I switched to perplexity which I have a pro account and it worked fine, very nice

No, I don't believe it can create Excel dashboards yet. It can create a html file for you to embed in a web page.

Good day to you Minda. What did I see now? Just upload the data file and ask questions and in a jiffy dashboard prepared subject to the limitations. It seems our excel skills will go obsolete in the coming years.

Great to hear you gave it a try. I'm less concerned our Excel skills will be (completely) obsolete as AI being a language model is not as good at working with data. Particularly data that's unstructured. It will certainly enhance what we do and make it faster to do a lot of things. However, there are some major roadblocks: data privacy, data volumes vs computing power, messy data, auditability of reports (this is a critical) etc.

These gimmicky tools are free until they aren't :) And they're great for academic purposes (free version with limitations), but are never pragmatic for real-world uses at work. That's why there's Excel and PowerBI with data security and once you subscribe, you get the full enchilada.

The Claude tool steals a lot of data, and shares it with third parties. Just read their privacy policy. It shows extremely bad judgement to recommend it for any work related tasks. People may be liable for theft and termination with cause by giving Claude their internal company data or any private customer data whatsoever.

I mention privacy concerns in the video as a consideration. One option is to obfuscate or anonymize a sample of your data before uploading it.

As with all major technology leaps it probably will eliminate the need for many jobs currently being done by humans, but also open up a whole new slew of jobs related to using it. The scary part is weather there will be any decent efforts at transitioning people from displaced roles into newly needed roles.
