That first quiet muffled sound after the silence was the creature seeing you at the other side of the hall. As the screaming started, it began running towards you, getting closer the louder the screaming got, until the audio clip ended, and you are presumably caught. Actually frightening how an AI captured the essence of terror with audio alone better than most horror movies today
