Don't fall for the hype! All these people who claim that AI is going to write code are trying to sell something. AI can write simple stuff like solve elementary problems, but for any code at the professional level, with hundreds of files and thousands of lines of code in each file, that is entirely out of reach of today's AI. Maybe in the future, but not now or any time soon. Small and medium size companies that fire programmers and replace them with AI will learn this through bitter experience and go out of business. Large companies like Meta can afford to be wrong, because if things don't quite work out with AI, then can always hire some of those software engineers looking for work. Even humans struggle with any realistically large code base; AI is completely unable to cope with it, not even close. I am ready to go on record with this.

This software architects you speak of, is basically just a fancy way of saying someone that designs the website, which can mostly be done by the AI agent, you don’t need a human employee to do that. For example: CEO asks the agents to design and build a list of different websites for his company. The agents builds them all out in like 10 minutes and present them. The CEO looks through them, and says “Aaah! I like this one the best. But maybe can you change this color slightly add a few other functionalities here.” The agent says, “Sure!”, and adds it in like a minute. Then the CEO tells his agents that this is the new company website and maintain from here on out. This doesn’t have to be just with a website, this process can be applied to any other form of software with the CEO and his AI agents. Notice how we didn’t need any human software developers in this process? AI agents can easily automate away all those jobs.

Software engineering was never about writing the code. Software engineering is and always will be about DESIGNING the software. And it is irrelevant if the code itself is written by human or AI. For REAL software engineers this switch to AI doesn't matter that much. At least for now.

@@Wanderer2035 I'm just stating the obvious, not saying that getting laid off or not being able to get a job is a good thing. Anyway, writing code itself is and always was a pain in the ass. You may like it, but it hinders your ideas in most cases. This coding AI is simply heaven for those who want to make software. It's a fulfilled dream, almost. Honestly, I don't know how this AI thing will turn out in the end; nobody does. Meanwhile, you can enjoy the ride and get the most out of the AI.

As i have mentioned in the video if your only skill is writting code, then AI can do better job in that, but software engineering is much more than that, You should be able to develop complex algorithms, Processes and softwares, this is something that AI is not capable of. Use AI with your creativity...
