I felt that at 15:08 😢 That was me for a good 8 years of depression.

I think we can all agree that it'd be nice to find someone who carries the kind of affection for us as Aoi does for Kaoru, but I have to admit that a relationship like this would make me uncomfortable. You see, I don't like to be mollycoddled, so if I had someone going out of their way to tend to every little need I might have, I'd probably go insane. I'd want my girlfriend to be more like a partner, not a servant.

I was thinking the same, but some people express love through service.

As someone whose love language *is* acts of service- I would have to agree with you. It's one thing to notice someone's favorite color or the types of foods and things they like, but it's another to as you say "mollycoddle" them. An equal partner is a much more ideal partner all around, one who listens and communicates with you fairly and treats you as their match. I think that's actually why I haven't watched this show in years and stepped away from the manga - the subservient tones just drove me crazy. 😂

@@sleeplesssongbird7625 I still like the manga and anime, and I totally get what they were going for, I just know that this sort of thing wouldn't be for me. I think this is one of those stories that needs to be viewed in the context of how things used to be. Does that make sense?

The manga continues much further than the anime thankfully. I've read the whole series to the end.
