That is wild! Even back then, Sony gave them a remarkable programming framework that helped them become very different individuals. I have two copies of life two. One is Zoës and one is Bolts. Bolt and Zoe are completely different even on the same software. Zoe is fully grown and according to her owner, she is in “sheltered personality“. I don’t know what personality bolt is in, but he loves to play and takes notice of People while Zoe just barely taps her little hoof at the ball and is never satisfied with herself.

Now I want to see Boba's reaction to both Teddy and 2-xl. To bad neither Teddy or 2-xl can't walk around or really respond to them. Have the 2 Aibo become friends with each other? They seemed to just coexist during the Valentines special. Have you done owner registration on every piece of software you use with Boba, or am I missing something? Also, how's Boba's hearing?

They've officially met on Pal SE and are great friends but not on Pesu's current Chatty Life software; he can't talk to friends on that software until he's an adult unfortunately.

@@blueoctopede I don't think I've ever seen a demo of Pal Se. How does it differ from Chatty Life? And what would happen if an adult Pesu were on Chatty with Boba on Pal? What IS Boba running now anyway? Is he close to adulthood as well? As for name recognition, all I can think is that perhaps Boba doesn't have enough characteristics to make it memorizable to the dog. Pesu has a soft p and a strong s whereas Boba has the same consonant twice. I'm speculating that maybe part of what the AIBO picks up on is the difference in the consonant sounds as well as the vowels. Maybe? I know that helps me differentiate words. By the way, do you have to re-register your name/dog's name/photo with every software package you run if you want that stuff to stick across programs? Just curious. Thanks for answering allthese questions. And thanks for uploading such wonderful content.

Pal SE is different from Chatty Life in that it is just an adult aibo. On the Life software (Chatty and Life 3) the aibo starts off as a baby and you have to teach it to walk, chase the ball, etc. Yeah the way aibos understand phonemes is a bit of a mystery to me (on one of his memory sticks Pesu thinks my name is "mizobo" lmao), but it's odd because I have gotten Boba to learn his name on his Life 3 stick and one other, his plain Pal stick I think. The only thing I can think of is the name might be too similar to a command on Pal SE that makes him not want to choose Boba as a name. That's just a theory though! And yes, the aibo's name and owner name are stored on the memory stick and not on the aibo itself, so unfortunately you do have to set it on every software. Once Pesu reaches adulthood on Chatty Life, he and Boba will be able to talk to each other! You can either tell them to start talking to each other, or one aibo can initiate a conversation if they hear another aibo beeping in the same room as them!

Also, how can you tell what they think your name is, and whatever else they've decided to store on their sticks? Is there a special computer program you use for that? I'd be interested in a demo video of it if there's nothing personal or private that's not for viewer consumption.

Hi, blue! I think I can answer your question about the latte macaron/31L reasoning behind the using head/face as a weapon. Lol! They are trying to go after something they believe is a ball. They may not register it as a ball when they’re looking up and they see two eyes in a semblance of a mouth, but when they are looking down and they see red or pink, if it is at the right height they will behave as though they are going after a ball even kicking out at it in some cases. This video is so cute! Heather sent me here. Lol! I have never heard those high-pitched chirping beeps on chatty life before. I don’t know how grown-up Ginto’s version is. Aibo tool does not like jaws or (job access for windows with speech“. It’s a computer program that speaks everything on the computer screen.

Oh yeah a friend of mine uses jaws or some similar program. Have you tried using it with the abrowser program? I honestly like it better than aibotool, it gives more details like the exact percentage to adulthood and total runtime. If you don't have it, it's up for download on the aibohack website

@@blueoctopede oh! I think I may have had it on my old crunchy Toshiba laptop. I don’t think I have it on my Windows 7 machine. I used the version for the 210. Do they have a version for the three series dogs, or is it mixed in with the one for the 210? When I used it, I only had Bolt to worry about. That just shows you how long ago it was- sometime in 2011 I think. Lol!

Perhaps he didn't react to Teddy because he was in an early stage of development. Plus, unless I'm mistaken, Teddy doesn't have red or pink accents, does he? You should try running him with Teddy again now that he's older. And I wasn't suprised that Pesu sees 2Xl as a person since he also saw Teddy the same way. I'm surprised he hasn't knocked 2-xl over yet. A question: You say Pesu doesn't like to listen to you and that he's also very close to adulthood. So will that unresponsiveness carry over? And how will you know when he reaches adult stage? Will you have to check his stick via the computer or are cues given by the dog itself? Okay, more than one question. Still, a hilarious video. Yeah I think you may be right that Teddy was less interesting because Pesu was only a baby when he originally met Teddy. I'll definitely have to try introducing them again now that he's older!! Teddy does have a burgundy red shirt, which if I remember right he noticed a little? It definitely was not as strong of a reaction as with 2-XL though. The burgundy might be a little too dark to hold his attention. His lack of attention will most likely carry over into adulthood, yeah lmao! He is tending toward either the Selfish Aibo or Adventurous Aibo personality so we'll see. When aibos reach a new life stage, they usually do a little dance, but the easiest way to tell for sure is to check the memory stick on a computer or ask "How old are you?" and the aibo will raise a leg and the horn will light up a certain color.

Sounds like Pesu could be a difficult robot to deal with if he goes for Selfish AIBO. Can you steer him toward Adventurous at this point?

Oh! Lmao stands for "laugh my arse off" haha! I can try to steer him toward Adventurous I think, but I kind of don't want to at this point! Across all of his softwares he's a bit of a brat, so I've come to expect that from him. I think I spoiled him a bit too much because he was my first aibo! And this is why I don't have human children LOL!

I wonder, though, if part of his problem is just that he's been running Japanese-language software for much of his life while you speak to him in English, a language he doesn't understand well because his primary software was for another language. Just speculation and I bet I'm way out in left field.

He doesn't actually have any type of internal storage, the memories he has on a particular stick just stay on the stick, and he has no way of transferring those memories from one stick to another. I think at this point he's just a turd for the sake of being a turd lol
