I LOVE LOVE LOVE Aida and Adam...but I agree, when I first saw this on Broadway, I thought the very same thing. I actually didn't start liking Adam until I heard him sing the song that he wrote for his wife Cybele back in 2007. And then I saw him in the movie version of "Rent" and thought his voice fit perfectly.

Heather Headley, an amazing singer. An amazing performer. She is parallel to Whitney Houston. Same level performer. Heather took my breath away when I sang with her. She is one of broadways greatest secrets.. She is show stopping. I loved her the moment I sang with her and that connection we felt together...I cried after the audition... it was so beautiful. I will never forget that moment. It was me and Adam at the call backs. My life was headed into TV and film and I choose to do a soap opera called All My Children for 9 months. It was Aida or All My Children. I choose the later. And I so wanted to do this the musical because Elton writes like no other .. and all of the songs are brilliant. There are no weak links in this musical. You are moved from beginning to it's hard and very sad real impassion'd ending.
