Brilliant. I am an 85 year old Musical Theater Fan, amatuer Set Painter, and Grip. This is my all time favorite Musical. Thanks for this video, making it possible for me to share it with my friends and family. It is Musical Art that is too good to miss. As cavemen, danced, so we evolved from beating drums and dancing to this level, of entertainment. And, still getting more Brilliant.

How many theatre kids does it take to screw in a lightbulb? All of them. One to screw in the lightbulb and the rest to say how their high school screwed light bulbs in better and went to state for it.

My highschool actually got a letter from Elton John because they tweeted him the link to our musical. He liked it. Did say our lead for Radme needs to work on his higher notes.

I seriously know this entire play to heart... I was so thankful my choir group from hs got to travel to NYC, I saw this on Broadway in 2000 and flipped over this!

I think this song is underrated. It introduces the twist that Aida is a princess and paints a nostalgic picture of the former glory of the Nubians. I also love the sense of dread it invokes, telling the audience how dangerous it would be if Aida was found out as the Nubian princess.

I grew up in your hometown, at least began to grow I hadn't got to my first shave before the body blow Egyptians in the courtyard, my family in chains You witnessed our abduction which possibly explains How I know you How I know you Before that fateful morning my family enjoyed A privileged existence for my father was employed As advisor to the king no less which surely rings a bell For as your are his daughter, you probably can tell How I know you Yes I know you You know too much and what you say Is better left unknown And now I'm just a slave like you Our lives our not our own I never have abandoned And nor I think could you That spark of hope for freedom No terror can subdue My only hope is silence You've never seen my face No you remain a princess In any time or place You don't know me Yes, I know you You don't know me How I know you How I know you

the ending of this song just kept popping up in my head and it was killing me not being able to remember where it was from. then as I'm typing in google I remember I heard it when I was in the play Aida, which is why it's a fail that I couldn't remember, and prob why I had that nagging feeling that I had heard it before. anywho thanks for posting :) I'd prob have gone insane not being able to remember lol XD

Did you guys not have enough people to play it? My district did it all at the same, so we unfortunantly had an all white cast (its the schools thats in the middle of the farming area, and has only .02 minority, mine has a extreamly diverse cast, plus we borrow kids.
