when everything gets quiet and aida wants to run away for the last time right before the big note and how mereb goes over to her and hands her the robe in most productions, almost always makes me cry, i was mereb in my senior show and i miss it

In my production we had Nehabka give it to Aida because for us it made more sense for Nehabka to give it to her since shes singing about in her solo

+Namita R Drink plenty of water. A LOT of water and practice reaching one note higher than you're normally comfortable with as you go up scales and arpeggios until you're comfortable with the new one. Then do the next one, etc. Practice every day. If your throat feels sore, make sure you're breathing through your diaphragm and your posture is perfectly straight so the air has a clear, unstrained path to flow from your lungs through your vocal chords. Finally, try drinking hot water with some lemon juice and honey (lemon juice to break up any excess mucus, honey to soothe it). Tricks learned from my musical theatre studies in college. Good luck!

Three and half years ago I was a part of my community theatre kids for kids production of this wonderful musical. We had kids as young as nine in this play and our oldest cast member was 26 (it was the agreement meant for high school productions, but there was no age limit in the contract). I love this song and Gods Love Nubia. During the dance part of this song I would chant Aida over and over again making it feel real like they did in this song, but with more vocal expressions. During Gods Love Nubia I would get goosebumps a lot when we finish off the song and the first act.

Raise your eyebrows, use more of your head voice. It sounds silly but squeeze your buttcheeks. When your coming up to the note and your flat imagine in your head the note is a little higher than it actually is. Hope that helps 😊

OneDirectionFan354 maybe u can hit it now, but here’s a suggestion: the way I hit it is by just continuing to work and work to get my range higher, like by continuing to go one note higher than ur comfortable with, and then eventually you can go much higherrrr! Hope this helped 😊
