Having an IEP and needing extra help in school don't make anyone a murderer. This thug murdered this beautiful, young girl to see how it felt. He believed he could get away with it. Don't get me started with his mother.

Both of my sons had IEP.. they are now wonderful grown adult men. My oldest still deals with ADHD.. he learned to control it. My boys have and always had the kindest hearts. Aiden is not human. There is no heart. This is somebodies baby boy who turned out to be a monster. I may get jumped on by many people but because the mom was caught washing his clothes and trying to hide such a horrible incident tells me she has always covered up and or made excuses for him which totally ruined this nonhuman. The teacher & the psychiatrist both made the distinction that intellectual ability was there, it was motivation & aggressive, argumentative, cocky behaviour that were the issues. The sports teacher also said he was physically aggressive to other students & argumentative with the sports teacher. As an ex teacher they are the most difficult because you know they're capable of more but they just can't or won't co operate. They usually end up out of mainstream education by age 12-13 & in schools specifically for behavioural issues.

I.E.P = Individualized Educational Plan. It is a modified and assisted means of providing information to a student to better their understanding and dissimilating their ability to complete a task. An IEP can provide speech therapy, physical therapy, additional time for testing or alternative testing sites, behavioral therapy, cognitive therapy, group settings, for some examples. Some students learn at different rates, learn using different methods, learn better under low distraction means, etc.

It appears as though she is trying to protect him, but I feel like she is trying to protect herself and/or her career. It seems to me, with my limited experience in a masters program for school counseling, that parents may feel uncomfortable with her continuing to work with their children after giving testimony that could expose the confidential details of Fucci’s IEP. I also feel like she would’ve had to notice violent drawings in notebooks, ideation, or behavior. If she were to admit to that on the stand, she would lose her license as she is a mandated reporter. And yes, a mandated reporter should also report if a student is a danger to others.

I had an IEP. And I can say without a doubt that those in IEP it is not a personality issue. It’s to help the part of your brain that cannot learn certain things basically. Whether that be actual school work, learning to listen, etc. it is not a behavioral help. Aiden had an IEP and had learning disabilities. But that did MOT cause him to murder this poor girl. People in my school thought those like me with IEPs were like kids in psych wards basically. We were treated differently when really our mentality and our personalities were normal but our learning function was not. If someone had a behavioral issue they were sent to a different person that specializes in that. I can’t process mathematics like a normal person can. I cannot understand understand math past a 3rd grade level. But I went to college, I have a great job. People with IEP’s learn patience, confidence, hard work, and kindness. Aiden was violent, he had issues and it was overlooked. I had a kid in my IEP group the same way. Attention was always on him and taken from us. He later tried to shoot the school up. Aiden never should have been put in IEP but something a lot more advanced that can help with his learning disabilities but also his behavior.

In Florida, every student with a disability who is eligible for exceptional student education (ESE) services will have an IEP. An IEP is a written plan for the special education of a student with a disability. Some ESE students are in smaller classrooms only with other ESE students; sometimes they attend classes with the general population of the school (and often an aide is there with them then). The details of how these kinds of accommodations to learning are decided upon and implemented vary from from state to state. They are not about "motivating" students and I think she was not happy with the questions she was being asked - to me they were clearly manipulated to make it sound like an IEP student is always not motivated and needs to "be motivated" which is totally untrue. Or that every kid who argues with a teacher gets reported to higher ups, also totally untrue. ESE teachers (they are called SPED in my state) are often amazing people with beautiful classroom management skills. I also know that some students are very adept at hiding personal stuff from adults, especially 14 yos. So no, I don't think she is lying. I think she knows how little most people know about ESE or SPED classrooms and it makes her cautious.

There is an evaluation process. Sometimes when the evaluation is completed, it’s found that some children no longer qualify for an iep. Teachers celebrate this because it means that the services have been successful and the student has progressed. If you feel as though the evaluation is incorrect, there are options for parents to pursue further.

My perception of WHY they are bringing up the IEP is to show that his cocky attitude, issues with adult authority figures contributed to the reason why he was falling behind in certain areas (hence why he had an IEP) An IEP is a tool that schools use to help catch students who are in a position of falling behind their peers academically. Aiden’s problem was his ATTITUDE and his completely enabling mother. (My opinion) In a different household with a mother who held him responsible for his actions and attitude - this entire situation would not have happened

Some people are just born evil. Sometimes the change comes with adolescence. This kid most likely never had to face any negative consequences for his actions at home. As long as he got his way, all was good. I wouldn’t take this teacher testimony with much faith. She says he was respectful towards adults, than later stated he could be cocky and argumentative. That’s far from being respectful. Seems like this ESE teacher needs an ESE teacher.

A psychologist testified that Aiden had told his girlfriend that his biological father had choked him, slapped him and punched him and that he generally did not feel liked in neither his mother´s nor his father´s house. Also, his mother was not a very good mother figure. I see people saying that some are just born evil. I don´t think so - unless there is some severe brain damage, which very, very rarely is. Making children feel they are unloved and slapping, choking and punching them around is a sure way of doing A LOT of damage. It´s the parents, maybe especially the bio father. Combined of course with some specific traits in Aiden that got activated through the abuse he received: not all abused children commit horrid crimes (but many do become violent themselves though.) Please people. stop hitting your kids as a disciplinary action, it only makes things worse and harms them for life.

I hope staff are looking long and hard at what they missed and how to prevent this from ever happening again. The man he met with weekly I believe on Wednesday failed. He said they never talked about anything but schoolwork, that's very poor rapport, because family life affects schoolwork. Secondly the friend who he confided in, why was it not clear to her that anyone talking about murdering someone is a red flag, do they not educate these kids on signs of depression, violence etc.? I find it appalling that these two key areas were so blatantly missed. Thirdly, there could have been some periodic home visits as the pic I saw of the playroom was outrageous, and would have been a huge red flag that something was not right in the home. Fourthly, a society that allows children to watch, gore, violence, and murder, for entertainment, will reap the consequences.

I don’t think it’s responsible of us, as adults, to blame a child (in this case, the friend he confided in) for not reporting this as we know that children’s brains are not fully developed until at least the age of 21, or mid-twenties. To expect a pre-teen to recognize signs of mental illness, whether taught them or not, isn’t fair. That friend may not have understood the seriousness of the matter, may have been influenced by peer pressure or the need to be accepted, which is normal in children in this age. It’s the adults that failed.
