Late 1980s. While parents fight for survival, children abandoned by everyone flock into street flocks and “fight for the asphalt.” They literally fight to control everything that stands on their land or moves on it. In the midst of general poverty, there are clear rules of life, support and a boy’s word, which is stronger than an oath.
14-year-old Andrey is from an intelligent family, he studies at a music school and lives with his mother and five-year-old sister. He regularly faces pressure from street teenagers. To protect himself, he makes friends with Gopniks. One of them, 14-year-old Marat, becomes Andrei’s and the viewer’s guide into the complex world of the streets.

Epic series , full of good actors , the mother of the protagonist was amazing, the themes also resonate so well , realistic and sad too , there's definitely lots of hidden gems in Russia , i hadn't have watched something this good since the брат movies.

Just finished the last episode! I binged watched the whole series in a couple of nights, its excellent! I watch a lot of foreign movies and tv shows and hate it when they don't accurately translate the subtitles. Over the years I've picked up a little Russian (Very basic!) and I thought the subtitles were pretty good! Russian people pazhalsta be kind to me if they are not. Anyway I came looking for the dance song as its brilliant! I hope they do a second series!
