I can feel and smell this video. Retired C130H Loadmaster. I'd give about anything to still be doing this.

Interesting to see how equipment has changed over the years. I was a crew chief in MAC (and later SAC) in the '70s, and although we did wear chutes while the doors were open we didn't wear helmets and we weren't strapped in. The load and I would sometimes walk to the back edge of the ramp and watch the pallets fall away, or the light from the glow sticks if it was a night drop. Meh, we were young and immortal. Wearing helmets and being strapped in def looks safer.

Old video, but still nice. H3, the best Herk ever (never got to fly that particular version). Amazing how far Tac Airlift evolved in the time I was flying it (1991-2014). NVG airdrops, NVG airland, precision airdrop with JPADS, amazing accuracy with GPS, and Doppler beam sharpening radar as standard equipment.

What’s the binoculars everyone has attached to the visor of the helmet?(night vision)?
@virginialoverproductions4 жыл бұрын
That's interesting to see them with Night Vision goggles.

Noticed the FE and Load Masters were not wearing flight suits. Is this something new?
@ron82564 жыл бұрын
None of the crew are. It’s a new two piece flight suit. They have been wearing in deployed locations for a couple of years now. Now everyone wears them home station.

The Pilot/Co/and Nav were not wearing them either.
