When this figure was announced I immediately jumped on a preorder. After so many delays, I grew really impatient so I just cancelled it. Tbh, I’m so glad I did. After seeing your thoughts on the figure, I feel so validated. Snubs didn’t seem very effusive about it either. I know Ochiba had a defective one to the point where they had to send her a whole new one. I’m just so glad I dodged a bullet.

I agree with your criticisms of the time and cost, and I'm also not a huge fan of the white highlights. Yet as someone who doesn't collect, I have to admit that this is one of the most beautiful sailor moon figurines I've seen. For me, the face makes or breaks a figurine and surprisingly, I think the Tsume figurine has one of the most 90's anime-accurate faces and would probably be the figurine I would go for if I could bucket-list one! I'm wondering if seeing it in person would change my opinion on the face lol

I share the same opinion. Not a collector but from what I saw from her collection I would pick the HQS TsumeArt Sailor Moon Ultimate one as it resembles way more to the Sailor Moon that I know since I was 5 or 6. Last week, I found a place in my city where it sells this piece for 900€ and I'm saving it because it's indeed a very beautiful piece.

I received my tsume too, nothing wrong with it, but when compared to gakabox and egg studios which i also own, tsume came out underwealming in every way, so I just sold her off. I understand the desire for certain collectors to own "official" product only, but I lean more towards design and scale and gakabox is far superior!!! Thanks for your review, I couldn't agree more.

I'm so so sorry you weren't impressed with the TsumeArt one as I absolutely adore her to death T_T As you said at the end, "I am the only KZbinr who has all 3" I didn't like the unofficial ones, so that's why I didn't get them. I feel like something always looks "off" on those. Just me personally, I love how we all have different opinions. It's all just personal preference in the end

Hahaha. Your commentary is really my favorite. It's really aggravating that Bandai has the license. I feel like some really good PVC figures could be in existence now if other good manufacturing companies could get their hands on Sailor Moon. It's funny how for $600, they couldn't nail the face and paint. I love the pose and body proportions though. If I could buy that without the swirling ribbon and the honestly meh base, I would be living. And I'm collecting the new G&G line of all the senshis. Pissed though that only Moon have different poses.

I can't believe this figure is double the cost of the Moon Glow Studios Super Sailor Moon figure. That one has a giant, gorgeous, transparent Moon Crisis brooch she's standing on, with amazing wing details-seriously, even the proplica can't come close! I'm pretty sure the size is about the same too. 100% agreed with you about if this one had used more transluscent and/or glittery effects, let alone the huge backlog and shipping delays. I feel bad.for the studio, it's gorgeous works of art but the problems are not insignificant. Hell, even WanZi Studio's princesses prepainted series is $100 cheaper per figure (provided you get one of the 100-figures limited runs while they're new and available-after that the aftermarket cost jacks up to over $1,000 each). They've got tons of transparent plastic for both the ombre dresses and the background piece that comes with them. They also have 2 swappable hairstyles. I still can't afford those so just gonna go cry forever 😅

Love that you shared your honest opinion. I love the overall design but you're right, some of the details just look "off" to me. That glitter & glamours Eternal Sailor Moon figure is still one of my faves and I hope we get some for the Starlights when the new movie comes out 👀

I have been a Sailor Moon fan since I saw the DIC version after Bananas in Pajamas. Some of you may get that reference, but showing my age here. Anyway I am a collector and when I saw this figure back in 2019 by Tsume at first I was so excited and said well I have to add this too my collection. Than I took a step back and said wait how big is this figure, is this even an official figure by Bandai, Banpresto, Figurearts etc… I kept looking at the pictures and said for a 600.00 price point this has to be the best and amazing figure money can buy and I knew it wasn’t. If you look at the details of 600.00 figures from DragonballZ or any other franchise, there is so much attention to detail where I felt this piece completely failed especially where is the holy chalice, the butterflies maybe even a hint of the moon kingdom in the background. I absolutely agree with you Sailor Tortilla this figure at a 600.00 price point is terrible. I’m sorry you had this experience and know some people will disagree with you. This fan however absolutely agrees as a Sailor Moon collector myself there are so many other figures out there that are cheaper and have so much more detail than this hot mess of a figure. Thank you for letting the community know your experience as I’m glad you didn’t sugar coat it and say this figure is amazing which it truly isn’t. I know we have some beautiful figures coming in the next year that I am excited for and can’t wait to see your reviews on them❤️✨

My ribbon doesn’t attach at the skirt. I told Tsume and sent a video and they basically blamed me for not attaching it right - even with video proof. After I threatened them to post their degrading conversation on Reddit they said they’d send a new ribbon. I got the new ribbon and this time the heart peg doesn’t fit and is totally broken. I’m going to have to super glue one of them. Official doesn’t mean better and I won’t be getting another. Contemplating Gakabox Tux

It’s a shame you weren’t a fan of her, I would love to have her but the price + exchange rate for Australia wouldve likely meant well over a grand for one figure which is just.. not in this lifetime ^^; I’m surprised you didn’t like her face though! I thought it really made the figure, I really found this one to be one of the most beautiful and interesting yet, but honestly I can see how the experience would really sour the entire thing, it sounded like it’s been just a horrible mess for most collectors. I guess at least she arrived in one piece! You’d bloody hope so after six months of waiting for delivery!

Omg Aije been waiting for your unboxing and review of the tsume arts super sailor moon! I totally get your frustration since the price point is just way too much adding extra expenses for the shipping fee plus the ridiculous long time of waiting of its arrival. Luckily yours is in superb condition comparing with others that received horrible qc issues which is absolutely unacceptable. I like much the sculpt and how the tsume arts’ proportion is very much accurate to the super s classic anime but yes I totally agree with you when it comes to her eyes. Usagi is a youthful, high spirited character and she seems kinda dead in the eyes.

I think for the price is not worth it… Like yeh she looks pretty, but a lot of details are kinda off and considering that this is a pricey figure and spend took so long to ship, it’s just a little bit disappointing. THE EYESS!! I’m glad you mention it, those square eyes look so weird. I don’t get why we have these figures!!! Sailor moon is an iconic anime, I wish we could have some better quality figures in the future. T_T I would love more dynamic poses!!! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and honest opinion! ❤️

My ungodly number is 1639. I cannot understand how Tsume required you to pay for shipping in November yet shipped out in April. I paid for shipping in April & received mine in April. I was super sad when the heart went from red to pink & just the overall coloring looking flat for such an expensive piece.

I think this tsume super sailor moon figure is very nice.🙂💖🌙 I do like the robbin💞🎀 attack pose she's in and the roses on the base are pretty too.😍🌹 I do agree they should done a better job on the paint job and on her face expression.🤨 Wish they stick with the red color on the cosmic heart❤ brooch though. Believe me you're not the only one who has a hard time getting the ribbon on its base.😩😓 Of the three, my favorite is the big red rose🌹🥰 one. May be an unpopular opinion, but I am so ANGY about the Tsume figure being... frankly, piss poor quality for what they're charging. I seriously feel like the glitter and glamours figure is so much better than the Tsume figure. Tume really did their customers dirty.

Not my favorite figure lol. I dont own one cuz i'm broke (TOTALLY AGREE WITH THE FACT WE NEED CHEAPER MORE ACCESSIBLE SAILOR MOON MERCHANDISE!!!!) but the colors are really washed out, and the quality control i've seen has been terrible on those figures, and honestly even if I could I would never go near these figures because of that (especially considering that's the quality control on 600 dollar figures yeesh). The gakabox eternal sailor moon, while its face is a little odd, is still incredible, and that probably remains my favorite figure, and the egg studio one looks amazing. I didn't hate the face on the super sailor moon, but it does look a little bit off. I think I would have liked it a little bit better if they did have better, not as washed out colors on it. And also another detail I think would have been great is if they added the blue,green, yellow gradient she had on her skirt like I she had in the manga and in some parts in the anime. Also I know this is off topic, but will you be sharing your thoughts on the new Sailor Moon Cosmos Movie coming out? I'm a bit excited, but then again Sailor Moon Crystal has never failed to disappoint though... However I think we might get Stars Proplicas Finally from this movie, since they remade Proplicas with sailor moon eternal.

But yeah the colors are so saddddd here, a gradient would have been lovely from like when she is transforming. A holographic, sparkly, or even metallic effect would have been so nice.

honestly the tsumeart figure's colors look flat, and dull, and sailor moon's expression is dull as well. a very bleh dull color scheme that kills off the action of her pose, even the compact's rainbow looks flat like someone used a cake decorating airbrush on it instead of it being more shiny and vibrant.

WHAT?! The face is perfect and so are the eyes. Those are Ikuko Itoh's famous eyes. It's not supposed to be "cute." It's a serious face. The Gakabox and Egg Studios look ugly and their faces and eyes look disproportionate and way too big. And the white lines emulate the highlights in the hair. This is the best one. Tsume-Art are better artists than the other two. You need to go look at the key art for the Rainbow Moon Heartache again. It's looks EXACTLY like it.
