Very interesting. A pity that many such sites are inaccessible to Indians who would appreciate them a lot and the tourism would help pay for their upkeep.

Thank you very much for another GEM Sir ! Rex has not personally observed the things he has recorded what he might have seen, considering he was there in decade of 1850's. Sodha's who have not revealed the location of the diety under pressure might not have sole purposes of earning through it more must be protection of same. Second is temple is Jain so association with lord Shiva seems incorrect.Dwarpalas which we have in hindu temples are generally a copy of main diety in temple. So temple is almost certain a jain temple. I have opinion that it was a Jain temple and diety must be one of the Jain tirthankars. Association of Shah's and Visitor from Surat indicates the same. Rajput's have tradition of supporting and promoting jain temples. That's why we find best protected jain temples and Mewar I.e. Udaipur region.
@salmanrashid88803 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the correction. It is indeed a Jain temple. But I was told that Gorecha was an avatar of Mahadev.
@himanshuvashisth13763 жыл бұрын
Sir Bheel community in the region must be a reason behind this name.I m not sure about their but bheels in Mewar region generally have differences with Jain saints. They have superstition that Jain saints purposely divert rains enabling Mahajan community to have financial grip on them. Sometimes they attack on them during their travel to region ( As jain monk travel by foot and they pass through their habitat in jungles ). Must be a trick might have played their by linking the diety to their diety somehow.

@@salmanrashid8880 I had to review this episode 😃 most temples in north India used to be controlled by Rajputs, priests (Brahmins ) were paid by them! & repeated invasions made believers (in idols) to hide them . Many such are surfacing in parts of India 🇮🇳 & usually they are being reconsecrated who know Mahadev may rise in Sindh again 😄

I don't think that the Arghun's would've been responsible for defacing the Temples as Sindh is not famous for religious extremism yet.
@salmanrashid88803 жыл бұрын
The Arghuns were never in Thar. The Kalhoras were first followed by the Talpurs. The defacement occurred during these two occupations.

Sir, with due respect, India do not call’s murti, a butt or neither idol , there’s reason behind it one of them is Sanskrit is non translatable. Translation change the meaning
