Aiki Jujutsu redirections of punches Jams Williams Sensei Nami ryu

Here is a brief explanation of a couple of re-directions of punches. We do not block, this comes from Kenjutsu where we have no blocks, and the re-directions show the difference between classical and modern arts. I have a back ground in boxing and kick boxing however this is very different.

It is similar to that yes. Stay very relaxed and flexible, reaching not lifting. The connection comes from your center not from you arm and must be connected there. Allow the person to ride off of the arm and gather them with you center as them do, in reference to the second strike here.

Sensei, if I may, it's kind of like how you extend your arm to parry a shomenuchi strike when performing shomenuchi iriminage, right?

It will work fine with your Aikido if you relax and understand that you need to flow with the vector of the punch and not push or clash with the arm.
