What I love about Rev. Fuyura sensei is the extreme attention to detail he points out in regard to each technique, more so that any other instructor of Aikido that I have seen. He spends as much time on detail as to not only how to do the technique correctly, but also on how NOT to do it (i.e. incorrectly). He even anticipates "problems" or issues that may develop during the interaction with the uke. Excellent! 🙂

All these videos have taught me three good principle: -if doing any trechnique only with proper understanding -one thing can bed done in different applications, say at three distances. - if one cannot fully completete it, there must be acontingency, i.e. a plan B- doing, just changing the original approach in some deatail, say direction, level or grip..Paul, 69.

Yesterday was a very focus and powerful day. My Aikido training just made the day flow. Even with challenges that came up. And was able to finish job ahead of schedule. Delighting the client. Shenogi / Sabaki. CONTROL and EXECUTE. START/ FINISH. Why I love Aikido.

I actually like the Jo better than the Bokken. The length and having 3 striking surface. Both ends and canter. I understand that a true katana can chop up a wooden jo. But who wields a katana in today’s world. I just brought a new jo and Bokken. Cause mine were destroyed in the Santa Rosa Tubbs Fire in 2017. But I been using a closet pole. Thicker and longer. 6 ft. Much heavier than a traditional Jo. Now my new jo feels to small and too light. But the Bokken great. I use all my weapon training using Shotokan Katas. Just a great workout. And Added function to the weapon and Kata. Totally cool.

Before I started studying Aikido. I didn’t think it was a very good physical workout like Shotokan. How wrong I was. Takes a lot of core and lower body connection to get up and down off the floor.
