It has to be felt. Grabbing Akuzawa sensei for the first time is a strange experience. Feeling is akin to grabbing a python. You can feel the tremendous power from inside and distributed throughout. Blocked at one point the snake or dragon moves so strongly and naturally at another generating tremendous power. He is a remarkable martial artist. Rob is very good at articulating sensei methodology.
this is amazinga nd mind opening..but i still have aquestions, can this principles be used to deal with striker(boxing, kyokuhsin karate)and grapplers (judo, bjj)
Some great internal work here. Very similar to tai chi.😊

As an Aikidoka, I was exposed to the Aunkai techniques. My big take-away was that, in standing, a Western ramrod straight spine is not really straight. One needs to pretend that one is about to sit down on a bar stool, so that the curve in the lower spine is straightened - then the spine is truly straight & the power can manifest. Please correct me if my impression is mistaken.

I apologize that this response is rather late. There is no particular need to physically remove the lower curve as this may cause tightness etc. The action you describe may be used to acquire a feeling of straightness however which can be tracked mentally to allow proper movement within whatever context. Akuzawa-sensei can still has the normal spinal curvature but you can see a distinct line that appears because everything is aligned correctly.
@@profesorbooty When I saw it before, it did not have subtitles. Or I did not turned on closed caption. Anyway now I can let my students know about this video. Thanks!
This explanations are not corret , there is no tecnics oyther wise is aiki a kind of energy developed by Daito Ryu and Tai Chi chuan, its function because of energy chim, ki or qi, because aiki act in all kind of positio no matter positions of the body, people who say other thing is trying to hiden the true!!!

Akuzawa Sensei was a student at Sagawa Yukiyoshi's Daito-ryu dojo for about 2+ years where they practiced this sort of exercise, but his method of generating power isn't largely derived from his time there. What is being explained here is one method of creating power, but a number of other methods are practiced in the Aunkai.

Never the position of body will create a such power, the force is derived from hiden exercises involved chi kun and meditation
