Morihei Ueshiba was teaching Daito Ryu Jujutsu in the Omoto compound. It was Onisaburo Deguchi who inserted Aiki in it in 1922, to emphasize "Aiki" , Harmony, and called it Daito Ryu Aiki Jujutsu. Takeda came that year to the Ayabe dojo of Morihei and stayed there a few months, and accepted the name change. Daito Ryu Jujutsu became Daito Ryu Jujutsu.
Daito Ryu Jujutsu, Daito Ryu Aiki Jujutsu, Aikibudo, until the name was changed into Aikido by the Dai Nippon Butokai around 1941. Morihei did not invent this name but indeed he fully accepted the name change into Aikido. This is all well documented and not guessing.
