That's why I stopped reselling and closed down my eBay shop (although HMRC still haven't closed down my account so I could pick it back up again) as I work full time but was putting pressure on myself to make a profit. Made sourcing less fun and had things taking up space. Now I just look for things I want (or friends/ family want) or can trade at CEX. Pressure is off and the enjoyment came back (well when I find something...). Guess the KZbin element and sharing with others is an extra dimension for you so fair play to you. I'll have to say hello when I see you down Sully in the summer.
@MasterofPieces10 ай бұрын
Yeah sou ds like we're in the same boat. Had it in my head I need to make X amount or what's the point... but really reselling gives me more than money. Hoping Sullys not to far off now

That's what I enjoy most about reselling; it's a fun hobby (most of the time) that financially rewards you for the experience. Chasing numbers in charity shops is definitely more and more difficult but like you said, you're enjoying time with your boys and saving £150 on those pesky nursery fees! When my son's a bit older I hope to do the same.

I was doing the same, trying to make x amount to justify the day off or something . It was becoming stressful. So now I’m trying to focus on a weekly or monthly amount The whole point of reselling for me is improving quality of life, being able to afford better quality groceries and other things I would have to of considered on my normal wage
@MasterofPieces10 ай бұрын
Yeah I get the stressful part... which is strange if its just there as a supplement!! Sounds like your on to a winner

£30 for a board game in a charity shop is madness! Makes sourcing in the charity shops a bit of a number crunching research process rather than a hobby you can go with your instincts on. Glad there are some chazza’s that still like turning over stock
@josephsm200210 ай бұрын
100% agree here. Went earlier was finding tommy hilfiger shirts for £15. Made me think realistically everything I find that's worth say £20 I should be able to buy because it's a charity shop. I shouldn't be leaving items and figuring out if I can make Enough profit from things I'm literally finding in charity shops
@MasterofPieces10 ай бұрын

Hi Ian, im a regular to your vids but after all this time ive come to the question, would you class yourself as primarily as a reseller or a collector. Only asking because your collection of vintage toys seems to be huge and i can only imagine a jellycat collection must take a shed ton of space too😂. How do you have room for your stock!!😂
@MasterofPieces10 ай бұрын
Definitely both. I find it difficult to sell stuff that's nostalgic to me... otherwise its straight on ebay
