I think the video is pretty clear, a woman whose husband abandons her or dies and since she can't raise a child alone (also the child's a girl so maybe the husband isn't gone but she was forced to get rid of the baby) she leaves the child at the tree's side, afterwards she sees the lightning, repents and goes looking for her child, but the child's already gone. Then, she keeps visiting/staying at the tree in her hope for her child to come back, but she never does and dies waiting for her, making the burnt and ordinary tree become a beautiful sakura tree (or rather becoming it herself), thanks to her deep sorrow and sacrifice, I'd guess. I think the woman and the girl in the end are something like the reincarnations of the protagonists in the present.

This is insane. I can't quite tell what is so special about this song, but its so good. Along side with Polaris, Kyoukara Omoide, Kachoufugetsu and several other Aimer's songs of this style - like its not super complex on a surface, but its so... like this song just EXISTS. Not someone wrote it - it existed since the beginning of this world, somebody just wrote it's notes down. I am not a musician, so it is hard for me to prove my point with "science", but I know I'm right :D. Another good example would be Yuki no hana by Mika Nakashima. Godlike. ... and it's not like the best Aimer songs or smth. - like Kalafina's Fairytale is pretty f-n nuts - but they are really unique in it's right to exist.

LPS silverpaws um...? it's kind of obvious? we don't figure out what happens to the original child of that mother who became a cherry blossom tree, but the video takes place in ancient Japan as we can see by the woman's kimono. later in the video, it changes to the present day Japan, and the tree is still standing. in other words, that mother is still there, waiting for her child. then a mother and her own daughter walk past. the mother looks exactly like the woman who became a tree, and so, that little girl, in a sense... is like the "reincarnation" of the baby that woman in the tree andoned over a thousand years ago. that's why she begins to cry at the end, because it's like that's her mother still there, still waiting for her. it becomes a lot more meaningful now, don't you think...?

Banu Uyanık okay. you should read this, because it makes the whole song more meaningful. in ancient Japanese culture, families wanted sons, not daughters. sons could do more. women were treated badly in those days. and so the mother of that child was forced to abandon her child. she didn't want to, she was forced to. these kinds of things really did happen in history.

Banu Uyanık we don't figure out what happens to the original child of that mother who became a cherry blossom tree, but the video takes place in ancient Japan as we can see by the woman's kimono. later in the video, it changes to the present day Japan, and the tree is still standing. in other words, that mother is still there, waiting for her child. then a mother and her own daughter walk past. the mother looks exactly like the woman who became a tree, and so, that little girl, in a sense... is like the "reincarnation" of the baby that woman in the tree andoned over a thousand years ago. that's why she begins to cry at the end, because it's like that's her mother still there, still waiting for her. it becomes a lot more meaningful now, don't you think...?
