When you really think about it, I think it makes sense that Rarity’s friends had such “bad” taste in what they wanted for dresses. They all live in a world where clothes are nothing more but accessories and really only worn on special occasions. Not an every day thing like it is for us. So when it came to the dress making they just went off of on what they know and like, stuff they’re familiar with. In the fashion world they were like 5 year olds when it came to deciding their designs, cuz like I said they’re all basically new to it.

They all do have siblings now that I think about it. Fluttershy has her older brother Twilight also has her older brother Pinkie has her like- 3 or so siblings, big family Rainbow has scootaloo, which they arent biological siblings but Scootaloo is an honnorary sister of rainbow Applejack has Apple Bloom and Big Macintosh Rarity has Sweetiebell So yeah! While rainbow I dont think has any biological siblings Scootaloo is her adoptive sister.

They should be grateful, but keep in mind that the main 6 are under the assumption that they'll be wearing these dresses to what they're considering a super huge event, and obviously they wouldn't want to wear something they personally didn't like to this said super huge event (And it is 100% okay for people to have their own opinions, that includes the main 6's differing opinions on the dresses). Yes, Rarity is stressed, but this is something she originally wanted to do, and as far as we're aware, the rest of the main 6 could think that Rarity is still enjoying making the dresses, not picking up on the fact that she's stressed. I don't know, I just hate it when you're given something you personally don't care for- or even something that could be harmful (even if given with good intention) and be told "Just be grateful" instead of being encouraged to voice your opinion.
