Air-2-Air AIRPOWER Highlights: EF2000, DC-3, C-130, P-38, SA-316, S-211

Dear friends,
let's try something new - this is our first "air to air / a2a" planespotting - we hope you like it.
The footage was taken around the event #airpower (www.airpower.gv.at).

Together, we could catch some nice aircraft:
Eurofighter "Austrian Tiger":
In 2022, the new “Austrian Tigers” paint scheme was finished at Zeltweg AB. It represents the red-white-red Austrian Flag, and the mountains on the tail represent the landscape of Austria. The Tiger and the stripes above the tiger represent the Austrian Air Force in the Tiger association. Every year the NATO Tiger meet is held in a country that is a member of the Tiger association. A country does not need to be in the NATO to be in the Tiger association, this is the reason why Austria, Switzerland etc. are part of the "Tiger squadron".
Lockheed C-130K Hercules:
Originally delivered to the Royal Air Force in 1967 the C-130K (MSN 382-4198) now flies for the Austrian Air Force. In 1994 the aircraft was part of the Marshall Aerospace development program. The C-130K was loaned for a test with the GMA2100 engine to be part of the C-130J development program. In 2003 the aircraft was handed over to the Austrian Air Force.
Morlock Aviation - Douglas DC-3C:
In 1943 the legendary C-47A / DC-3 with the serial number 42-92157 was built. In 1943 the aircraft firstly entered service for the U.S. Army, was then transferred to the RAF, and later on to the South African Air Force. 1950 - 2014 the aircraft was privately owned in South Africa and painted in the “Springbok Classics” scheme. 2015 the aircraft was brought to Germany, re-painted into an ex-Aer Lingus livery with Olive Air titles, and was bought by Michael Manousakis in 2020. Nowadays the aircraft is flown by Michael Manousakis and his great #MorlockMotors Crew: shop.morlock-motors.de/
Lockheed P-38L
The P-38 with the s/n 44-53254 was constructed in 1944 abd entered service for the USAAF. Some months later, the aircraft was transferred to the War Assets Administration at the Kingman Army Airfield, AZ. In April 1646 the aircraft was bought by Lilee for 1,500$ and re-registrated as NX25Y Two months later, the aircraft was modified for Air Racings. In 2001 the P-38 crashed so badly, that NX25Y had to be written off. Read about the comeback: fraproductions.com/lockheed-p...
Dornier Alpha Jet FB:
OE-FRB and OE-FAS are two of six Dornier Alphajets, which are owned by Red Bull. Four of them are airworthy, the other two are in a Museum. OE-FRB & OE-FAS represent The Flying Bulls on many airshows. Both aircraft began their flying career for the German Air Force as 41+30 & 40+90. The Flying Bulls own four airworthy Alphajets, the other two are part of the Red Bull museum.
Aerospitale SA-316B Alouette III:
The 3-ship formation of the Alouette III´s with 3E-KZ shows the tasks and Air Bases of the Alouettes in the Austrian Air Force. In the middle of the formation, you can find 3E-KA, which symbolizes 50 years of Austrian Air Force Alouette III operations. The last Alouette, registrated as 3E-KS, wears the SAR Sticker, which stands for Search and Rescue, a task that is mostly done by the Alouettes.
MyJet - SIAI Marchetti S-211:
This Marchetti was originally delivered to the Royal Singapore Air Force. After flying with the RSAF for several years, the Air Force began to retire their Marchetti S-211 aircraft. One of them was then bought by MyJet. The SIAI Marchetti S-211 was painted into a grey livery with a black tail and several black & yellow stripes, which is leaning on the Italy Air Force paint scheme.

The DC-3 is my favourite aircraft and, in my opinion, the best looking aeroplane of all time. My jaw dropped at seeing it in this 4K air-to-air footage... wow! Absolutely incredible. A treat to see the Alouette III too as I love helicopters also since I was a child :) Wow!

Thank you very much! We really appreciate your kind words and support! We film with the A mode, we set the focus manually by just holding the photo button :) We recommend to be above 1/200 while filming, lower is also sharp but the camera has to be very stable :)
