They engines sound nice. By the way, the AOA anomaly and MCAS issues are getting close to be sorted out. I’d be shocked if they aren’t flying passengers by the beginning of the summer, if not sooner. 14,000 hours of flying in 737MAX at American Airlines in U.S. prior to the 2 incidents were uneventful for the MCAS install. If the pilots have confidence in this, and they do, I wouldn’t hesitate to fly on the MAX. What’s important is a consensus world wide that the MAX is ready...not just the North American Countries where training and safety is priority one.
@harkmi35 жыл бұрын
Las Vegas Valley Accountability Watch the issue is most passengers have zero confidence in this plane. It will be a tough sell by most airlines to convince people to get back on this plane. If airlines don’t offer choices to their passengers to fly on alternative planes, those passengers will find alternative airlines to fly.
@KingofDoubleBogey5 жыл бұрын
harkmi3 Agree, I know one U.S. airline is going to try to make the passengers comfortable by offering possibly different aircraft even though they might have to fly non direct to final destination while the MAX would be a direct flight to final destination. As I said above it’ll be ( should be a ) a world wide consensus on flight operation for the MAX being safe. I have full confidence this will work out in the next 6 months. MCAS didn’t have any effect on flight operation on 99.9 % of American Airlines MAX flights, flight crew will or should brief passengers if their on the MAX to comfort them. They are working hard to bring back customer loyalty. Their retraining will be top notch. Like I said above 1 anomaly in 14,000 hours prior to the 2 previous accidents. That one ‘minor’ anomaly was actually cause by minor wake turbulence but brought under control. I wish I could link the 20 minute video on what AA is doing to calm the passengers and the rest of the flight crew and their own families but it’s proprietary right now and I was impressed. Rest assured if the pilots think it’s safe, and they do, think things will work out fine. I know there’s 1000’s of hours of simulator with different scenarios with non revenue flying going on right now with every test imaginable and different situations going on daily. It’s a beautiful aircraft and U.S. pilots are the best train in the world Regards and Happy New Year ✈️ EDIT: personally a name change of the MAX shouldn’t be out of the question, at least imo and take the stigma away.

Boeing put profits and shareholders ahead of safety. And if you think the FAA or any other regulator will authorise this death trap any time early this year you are dreaming. Hello! I do agree that the aircraft is not a death trap but the fact brand new aircraft had 2 deadly accidents that were nearly identical for me does justify a grounding, more so considering how boeing tried to cover up the aircraft issues and they tried to take the fast lane on aircraft development (ie less pilot training). Although yes the 727 did have a lot of problems, I don’t believe we should use that as a bench mark of what is safe or not considering it’s age - a lot has changed in the industry making it one of the safest industries in the world.

@ milketel01 You gloss over the main factors that caused this aircraft to crash: * Airbus had beaten Boeing with the new A320neo that DID fly just the same as other A320 (and even A330) aircrfat * Rather than design a new aircraft to fit bigger engines Boeing chose to modify a 50 year old low level airframe. This of course avoided losing $ Bns in bonuses. * This repositioning or large engines caused dangerous flying characteristics (AoA stall) and so Boeing chose to create MCAS rather than design anew airframe (or design new undercarriages). * To counter the Airbus sales threat Boeing then lied to customers, pilots and passengers by failing to tell anyone MCAS was even fitted, they issued NO simulator software and kidded everyone it was 'the same as other 737s' when it was NOT and suggested an hour on an iPad. * Even after the first crash Boeing failed to own up but were caught out a few months later when more passengers paid for Boeing's greed with their lives. Boeing were hoist on their own petard of sales lies because they had sold thousands on the basis it was the same as other 737s. But then in test flights it found out it wasn't. So they had to hide the problems with MCAS because they couldn't embark on expensive (to customers) training and updating flight manuals as this would need more FAA certification (and cost) and admit it was NOT like other 737s...... The rest is history.
@1chish5 жыл бұрын
@@bloodguard41 If it flew OK why would it need new type classification and therefore need MCAS to maintain the original classification? It was sold as being 'just like all the other 737s' but evidently it wasn't or Boeing wouldn't have needed MCAS let alone not tell anyone. They compounded the error by having MCAS only use ONE of the two AoA sensors at a time (to avoid new type classification) and then have it change from one to the other after each flight again without telling maintainers. So if one fails they would be testing the OTHER one.

A flying coffin ⚰️ Watch out people

All planes can be flying coffins, if you don't have skilled pilots making decisions. Sad part is, the pilots of the Lion Air crash were assigned to a broken plane. The final report uncovered how the plane had been taken out of service, and there were multiple issues that needed fixing, that weren't fixed correctly. That in of itself is criminal, despite MCAS having it's flaws, yet I wonder if any of their maintenance crew were prosecuted, fired or taken to task?

brkitdwn well said, @AeroBuckaroo you don’t have to be a pilot to look at those facts. They took off with a stall system screaming at them... and didn’t come back, flew 13 minutes away at 250kts to them hold and attempt to diagnose the issue with 170+ people onboard while never at anytime doing the necessary procedure. It’s easy to blame a dead pilot, but forget the fact that they didn’t do the procedure, forget the fact that they knowingly departed with an airplane with issues over multiple proceeding days... just focus on this... in North America it’s a major culture difference, flight crews we instantly declare and emergency and turn back as fast as they took off vs fly away and mess about... I’m certain they are pushed to operate those planes while the flight crews likely have less authority on the situation vs here. Crew will make that call clean and clear, aim for the runway end of story. Lots of miss information ... that said, the manufacturer has a role in this... a lot mishandled ...lastly, the lion air crew the proceeding day did the procedure when they had the issue and landed without issue... more too it

Air Canada should send all B-737 MAX airplanes to the scrap yard > passengers will not fly in them! Replace with Airbus A-350, the best plane in the sky.
@ThresholdProductionsCanada5 жыл бұрын
Global Solutions this doesn’t make much sense since the A350 is a widebody (for long haul) and a 737 is built for short-medium haul. Different markets.

Not even the same type of aircraft 😂 gtfoh with that.

Do you even know what your saying the A350 is not even targeted at the same market and no one is scrapping 1-2 year old planes, holy shit.
